Liebster Award

The lovely Laura from Crafty Booksheeps nominated my blog for the Liebster Award!

Such a sweet surprise ~ I rarely take part in these kinds of things as I simply don’t have the space in my schedule but for once, I thought I’d squeeze it in!

The rules:

~Link back to the blogger that tagged you.

~Nominate ten others and answer the questions from the blogger that tagged you.

~Ask ten questions for the bloggers you nominate.

~Let your nominees know of their award.

Here are my answers to Laura’s Questions…

1. Who is your favorite author (s) and why?

Ronie Kendig ~ she is supremely talented, writes in my favourite genre of romantic suspense with high suspense and perfectly woven romance that doesn’t detract from the incredibly intense action sequences, and her characters are fabulous…I could go on!

2. What do you enjoy most about blogging and would you recommend it to others?

The friendships I have developed over the years with other like minded people who love stories as much as I do ~ bloggers, authors, publicists, author advocates, and more ๐Ÿ™‚Narooma 2012

Would I recommend it? Yes and no! It has been incredibly rewarding but it is very time consuming and finding the balance between my book blogging and other responsibilities is always a challenge.

3. Is there a book you didnโ€™t think youโ€™d like, but you ended up loving it?

Can’t think of one at the moment.

4. What would be your ideal vacation spot or your dream vacation?

Anywhere with a beautiful beach and a comfy beach chair!

5. How many books are on your TBR shelf?

Mmmm…I don’t think I want to count as it’s TBR shelves not shelf!

6. What is your favorite spot to read?

See my answer to 4!

7. Do you have a favorite snack while reading?

Rasp-Bullets_LgeRaspberry bullets

8. Which blogger has inspired you the most?

This is a hard question to answer ~ I’ve been inspired, encouraged, challenged, amused, and engaged by many bloggers over the years but the one blogger who has generated all those feelings in me in one post, and on more than one occasion, would be a woman who has become an incredibly dear friend to me ~ Kelli Standish. She doesn’t blog very often these days but when she does, I know I’m in for a real treat ๐Ÿ™‚

9. What are your other hobbies (besides reading)?

Photography, operating my private library, table tennis with my TD&H

10. Whatโ€™s one of your biggest book pet peeves?

Describing a romantic lead as “devastatingly handsome”!

Here are the blogs I’m nominatingย

Lydia at The Overweight Bookshelf

Ganise at Returning to Eden

Kara at Flowers of Quiet Happiness

Amber at Seasons of Humility

Rissi at Dreaming Under the Same Moon

Renee at Black n’ Gold Girl’s Book Spot

Kate from To Read of Not to Read

Jamie at Books and Beverages

Melanie at Christian Bookshelf Reviews

Rachel at A Fair Substitute for Heaven

And here are my questions for you, ladies(with zero pressure to respond, although I’d be intrigued by your responses!)

1. What is the name of the most recent book you have finished and loved?

2. What is the 17th line on the 125th page of the book you are currently reading?

3. When did you realise you were a true book lover?

4. What is your genre of choice? Why?

5. What is the name of your ‘comfort reading book’? (one you will pull out and read when you want something familiar)

6. Who has encouraged you the most in your reading pursuits?

7. Your most memorable hero, and why?

8. If you had to swap lives with a character, who would it be and why?

9. Do you alphabetise your books by author or title, on your bookshelves?

10. Why do you read?

Enjoy!

  1. awww *blushes*

  2. Rel, A well-deserved honor. Since I speak a little German, I recognized that the title of the award means “darling” or “loved one,” and that certainly describes your role in the writing community. (I must admit, however, that when I first saw the title I thought, “Lobster?”)

  3. Oh my! Well this was a way to make me smile this morning. ๐Ÿ™‚ I’ll have to see if I can’t squeeze in the time to answer your questions, Rel, they look like a lot of fun!

And for the record, I totally agree with #10. That is a VERY popular description and I’m always like, “What exactly does that even mean?”. ๐Ÿ˜‰

  4. Doc is so right! Completely deserved. (But does this mean I have to stop calling Richard “devastatingly handsome”?)

  5. Thank you a MILLION times, Rel! Honored to be in such a fabulous group of bloggers. ๐Ÿ™‚

  6. I am smiling!!! Thank you, Rel! ๐Ÿ™‚

Another blogger nominated me for a Liebster as well, BUT it’d be my sincere pleasure to answer both sets of questions. Quizzes are my favorites! And yikes! Your questions are even harder! But this girl is happy. I know I’ll have a blast answering them. I enjoyed reading your answers here as well. Thanks so much, Rel!

  7. So well deserved, Rel. Very proud of you. And what a marvellous competition in that you nominate other blogs as well. Give freely to receive. Fabulous sentiment.

Now raspberry bullets? Hmmm… best lock that away for future reference.

  8. I wouldn’t mind reading on the beach myself! Loved the questions you asked to the nominated blogs! Congrats to all of you!

  9. Love your answers and questions! I love getting nominated! Here’s mine and thanks again!
