Cover Art Headers (3)

Delighted to bring you the newest cover art from Bethany House Publishers and some fabulous stories beneath those covers. I’m really impressed with these covers overall. Bethany has remained true to their commitment to provide high quality covers and with this group, I feel they have really pulled off keeping to their more traditional style of cover, yet infused them with some fresh and appealing elements. The background treatments on most of these covers are truly the standout for me! The Parisian, London, and Caribbean backdrops on Kate’s, Jennifer’s, and Lisa’s are gorgeous. Even the more simple background’s on Jen’s, Leslie’s, and Mary’s perfectly complement the models and add atmosphere to the covers.

Less decapitations (someone must be listening to you, Aaron!), and the focus on the eyes of the models are lovely on Jen’s, Susan’s (love the blurred background which emphasizes the model’s direct look), and Jennifer’s.

The elegance of Jocelyn’s cover is as enticing as the model’s long braid, with the feather treatment and the bottom scene communicating the story line beautifully.

Jaime’s is fantastic – can’t wait to see the actual book and I’m really hoping it has some physical texture to it as well. Mary’s stellar covers for this series continues with the attention to detail of the costuming terrific, likewise with the stunning dresses on most of these covers.

So, let’s have some fun! If you had to only pick ONE of these covers as your favourite, which would it be? Actually, I’ve just tried to do it and I can’t, so you can share two – LOL! I’m going to go with Jocelyn’s and Jaime’s…but it’s line ball with a number of others 🙂

  1. I love Jamie’s! Awesome cover.

  2. Paula Shreckhise

No use! I can’t pick just ONE. I keep going Oh! Oh! Oh! I want them all!

  3. I will have to say, I could not wait to see what “Verity” would look like . . . . so beautiful! Can’t wait to open these artful representations of great stories!

  4. Love all these, especially Lisa’s. Sigh!

  5. Love these covers! Bethany has raised the bar on beautiful. 🙂 Cannot wait for Jaime Jo Wright’s new book–loved her debut novel. Kate Breslin’s story sounds wonderful, as does Elizabeth Camden’s. Those are my top three picks, but each one of these books could have a place on my bookshelf!

  6. These are all SO pretty – lots of historical in this group.

The change in direction for Mary’s covers continues to be so “inviting” and makes me want to pick up one of hers (I’m not the biggest “western” fiction fan). Kate’s is GORGEOUS! (So intriguing.) And, of course, Jaime’s is atmospheric perfection. 🙂

As always, so glad you share these posts, Rel. They’re fun!!

  7. Wow! Those are stunning covers! It’s impossible for me to choose which ones I like the most. They are all fantastic! Bethany does such a great job with covers!

  8. Hey Rel!
Hopefully you are right about there being fewer decapitations… There are a couple of offenders here, but I’ll mention that later. I begin with your challenge: It was a bit tough because there are several I really like, but I did narrow down to my favorite two. I love Jen Turano’s new cover! I love the old wooden chest, the look on the model’s face, and the dress. All fit the storyline so well. My other favorite is Susan Ann Mason’s. I love the colors, and I do think the blurred background works well. However, I hope there is a picture of the estate on the back as I love the look of them. I also love Jennifer Delamere’s cover. I love the London backdrop and the green colors of the dress. Lisa Bergren’s cover is great, too. Again, the scenery and the dress work great. Kristi Ann Hunter’s cover is another good one. While I really liked the previous one in the series, this one is better with the matching of the pictures and colors. Kate Breslin’s is another stunner to me. Paris in the mist works as a great background, and the look with the hat covering part of the face, while not quite as good as in Tracie’s last series covers, works great here. Tracie’s new cover is great too. I love the scroll work on the side and the title letters appearing like those of a sign of the era. I wish all of the lettering on the cover would have been done in the same style. I love the picture, but I wish there had been a touch of something to point to the Wild West show aspect too. Her cover with Kimberley Woodhouse is nice. The uniform and the day/night sky especially stand out. I have loved the covers of Mary’s latest series. I love this one too, but not quite as much. The scenery is beautiful, but while I understand the female character would dress this way, I think the clothes look too feminine still as they are fitted to a woman’s body. They should probably be a bit looser and”boxier” (not sure if that’s the right word). It could be a contemporary cover except for the clothes on the man, which definitely have a historical look. Now for the decapitations: I do like the dress and the feather treatment of Jocelyn Green’s cover, but…oh well, you know Rel. 🙂 I love Elizabeth Camden’s writing and stories, but I am not a fan of this cover at all. It goes with the others in the series, mostly, but the “piece” of the model just does not work for me. There seems to be nothing in the picture to focus on or be drawn to, except maybe the pearl choker. Jamie Jo Wright’s cover works well for her story, and I love many of the elements here. The single straight-backed chair and the curtain being blown are great, but the crackling paint treatment over the picture is outstanding! It is so evocative in pointing to the past and some things “cracking” and about to break. Leslie Gould’s cover is beautiful, but the model is a bit too made up for being Amish. I like Rachel Dylan’s cover, and it works well with the previous in the series, but the blurred backdrop doesn’t quite work as well as some of the others to me. While the darkness certainly points to suspense, I wish there was another touch in the background to do the same. Thanks for sharing another great group of covers, Rel! Blessings to you!

  9. I think Jaime’s is probably my favourite cover, but Kate Breslin’s and Jocelyn Green’s would be close seconds. Well, and Lisa Bergren’s is very eye-catching too. The colours are gorgeous!

  10. Wow, I guess I would say Jocelyn and Lisa’s for me! They just catch my eye and I am drawn to them.
    Linda Marie Finn
    Faithful Acres Books

  11. Oh my word! Just one!! There are several simply stunning covers. I love so many of these.

If pressed and clearly you are pressing us to pick one…I’d go with Elizabeth Camden’s. Very clean and classy.

  12. I’m all astonishment! Bethany House set the bar high for covers!

    I love Jaime Jo’s cover.

I’m excited that Kate Breslin has a new release coming!

  13. They’re all wonderful, but Jocelyn Green’s stole my breath!

  14. I volunteer in the church library and have for almost 40 years. I’m also the book buyer for the library since I pretty much know what we have and what people like to read.
They say you shouldn’t judge a book by it’s cover but I do. When I”m out shopping for books to put in the library I always know what we have by it’s cover.
If the cover is changed or I haven’t read it, then I refer back to my list of books we don’t have.
We have the authors listed in the library and our readers are anxiously awaiting for these books.

  15. What a great group of covers! They are all great, but I especially love Susan Anne Mason’s new cover. The colors are great, and the heroine’s expression really pulls you in. I especially love the dress she is wearing. When I took a closer look I was tickled to see it is the same dress my heroine wore on the cover of A Refuge at Highland Hall. Fun!

  16. Sigh. So many great books in the offing! Of course, some of those are authors I would read if the covers were plain brown paper, but BHP certainly makes those books shine! Beautiful covers!

  17. It is soooo hard to choose, but I really love Jaime Jo Wright’s.

  18. My two picks are:

    1) The Curse of Misty Wayfair by Jaime Jo Wright – eerie, creepy and I can almost feel the breeze blowing the curtain.

    2) Verity by Lisa T. Bergren – dress is STUNNING and appears as if it’s glowing in 3D. Also, love the ship in the tropical background, but would hate to be wearing said STUNNING dress in that heat!

  19. You’re asking a lot but if I have to choose 2: Jaime’s and Joycelyn or maybe Tracie’s or….you get the picture. Bethany House has wonderful covers!

  20. What an intriguing batch of covers!! It’s impossible to choose just one favorite, but Kate Breslin’s is one that really stands out for me. Thanks for such a great post, Rel!

    • Jocelyn Green » It’s a beauty, for sure. Thanks for dropping by, Jocelyn. Your covers have the had the gorgeous Bethany House treatment!

  21. Oh my! These are lovely! It would be impossible to pick only one cover out of all these beauties! 😉
But…the one that draws me the most is Jaime Jo Wright’s The Curse of Misty Wayfair. I absolutely canNOT wait to read that one. and the cover is simply outstanding.
I also really like the cover of Jocelyn Green’s Between Two Shores. Somewhere I read her explanation of the cover selection process, and I think that all just really turned out quite lovely.
I also really like the cover on Rachel Dylan’s Breach of Trust. This series has been great so far!
