Indie Cover Art & Book News

Cover Art Headers (24)

It’s always a delight to feature fresh new novels from indie and small press authors. I love that in this selection of books there’s multiple genres, diversity, unique cover art, and brilliant writers! I’ve already had the pleasure of reading Heartless (gorgeous!) and I’m about to start Something to Believe In. As a subscriber to Mimi Matthews’ newsletter, I’ve read the first 5 chapters of Gentleman Jim so November can’t come around quickly enough (both for the reading enjoyment and it will mean our rather heinous 2020 will be almost done!).

I’m loving the variety of cover designs in …

First Line Friday: Kimberly Duffy’s A Mosaic of Wings (with giveaway)

First Line Friday

Welcome to another First Line Friday, hosted by Hoarding Books. I’ve chosen to showcase the first line from Kimberly Duffy’s debut novel, A Mosaic of Wings. When I featured this cover some months back in a cover art post, I was delighted not only with the discovery of a new author, but a story set in a fascinating and underrepresented location when it comes to Christian Fiction. I fell in love with India reading stories Linda Chaikin’s Heart of India series and Patty Metzer’s Lights of the Veil. More recently I’ve enjoyed Christine Lindsay’s and Mimi Matthews’ …

Cover Reveal & Book News: Coming soon from Tyndale House

Cover Art Headers (23)

I love Tyndale House books! While they don’t push out the most number of fiction titles a year, they are always well considered stories. With this group of releasese, we see two authors making Tyndale House their new publishing home – Lori Benton and new-to-me author, Michelle Shocklee. And it’s their covers that are the stand outs for me.

I love the substantial feel Lori’s cover gives – perfect for her brand of heartfelt, meaningful storytelling. I appreciate the new direction for her covers, even if birds aren’t my favourite creature!! I so hope the cover is going to have …

Top Ten Tuesday: Titles That Would Make Good Band Names

Relz Reviewz Banners (87)

Today’s Top Ten Tuesday, hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl, was submitted by Michelle, and is a fun play on book titles. There are some great titles of books that would make great band names. So, that is our TTT of the week: TTT Titles that would make great band names. This was tough at first. I found many titles that would make great song titles, but band names took a little longer. Tamara Leigh and Ronie Kendig have quite a few one name titles that would work great, but I just chose one each of theirs. Some would …
