Revell Books Cover Art & Book News

Cover Art Headers (4)

As I’ve come to expect from Revell Books their early 2019 collection features numerous genres, including historical romance, romantic suspense, fantasy, women’s fiction, Amish, and contemporary romance. You should have no trouble finding a novel in your genre of choice!

Thomas Locke’s is terrific – I love the emblem and how well the rest of the cover depicts the genre and style of the story. Great to see a male featured on Lynette’s, with the background and title treatment themed with the previous books in the series so they are easy to identify. Laura’s is simple yet appealing and I really appreciate the model’s homespun clothes, in contrast to the usual fancy dresses we are accustomed to seeing. She fits well with the Scottish background.

I’m excited for debut author Erin Bartels’ novel – the cover is intriguing and the storyline sounds intense and very relevant. The very high praise from Colleen Coble will be a challenge to live up to, so I hope this book does. Beth’s, Sarah’s, Suzanne’s and Amanda’s cover reflect their genre well. Delighted to have a longer romantic suspense from Beth who has made her name with Love Inspired romantic suspense. Patricia’s and Irene’s follow closely the style of the series’ themes as they should.

Valerie’s is reminiscent of Lauren Denton’s debut novel’s cover, but I love the look and the magnolia blossom is a nice touch. Good to see Melody has written a romance between a mature couple – it will be a nice change from the more common twenty-something love stories, although at first look I thought it was an Amish novel!

I’m especially looking forward to reading Laura’s, Beth’s, Lynette’s, Valerie’s and Erin’s! What are your thoughts on this collection of stories and covers?

Now the future of Catawba may be in the hands of an untried 21-year-old trader named Caleb. And Caleb knows that if his secret were ever to come out, he would never see another dawn.

  1. Oooo!!! Those first 3 are my favorite.

  2. I’m especially excited for Laura Frantz’s and Suzanne Woods Fisher’s books!!!

  3. Hey Rel,
As per my usual, I gravitate toward the three historical covers. I love Amanda Cabot’s because of the house. I want to live there!!! (Amanda mentioned especially loving the house too.) I love Laura’s because the entire look goes so well together, including the clothes as you said. And this means another great story from Laura! I also love Sarah Sundin’s with the air battle look. While I love these covers and am looking forward to reading them, I am most intrigued by Melody Carlson’s new book. Being a bachelor English professor, which some would also say obsessive-compulsive, I am curious to see how this story progresses and turns out. As for the cover, I love the picture with the hats. I think this represents the characters so well without showing people. I do wish the bottom part with the title and author did not come up so far and cover some of the picture. Also, I think more could have been done with the title script. This is too plain. I would like to see the word “courting” done artistically and the words “mr. emerson” capitalized and done in Times New Roman font as that would be how an English professor would prefer his name. (And this is not obsessive-compulsive of me. 🙂 ) I am definitely intrigued by the two literary stories and their covers. I love the cover of Valerie Fraser Luesse’s. However, I think the entire picture should pan back a bit and the curtains should be changed to be more plain for a better backdrop. And I am thrilled that there is finally a white magnolia used on a cover of a novel set in the South! Erin Bartels cover is nice, too, and Colleen’s comment definitely makes me take notice! I do like seeing a guy front and center on Suzanne Woods Fisher’s cover as that is rare in Amish covers. However, I would have taken out the buggy and moved the fence and lady closer to be seen better. I would have also shown part of the fence as needing repairs. This would well represent the title and problems between the protagonists. Irene Hannon’s represents the story so well, even including a touch of the lavender. I am so excited for Beth and like the look of her cover! Lynette Eason’s and Patricia Bradley’s do fit with the others in their respective series, but I do hope for a different style of cover for Patricia Bradley’s next series. I have just not been a big fan of this group. I do like Davis’s cover. The look is definitely part apocalyptic, part dystopian. Thanks for sharing another great group of stories with us, Rel! Blessings!

  4. ABSOLUTELY LOVE THOMAS LOCKE’S COVER!!!!! (sorry for the caps, but we needed serious emphasis there haha)

I’m so happy to see Elizabeth Goddard’s first trade-length cover!! So pretty. Did notice the over-the-shoulder pose with hers and Sarah’s, whose I absolutely love.

  5. Fanning myself over Lynette’s cover. Why? Scroll back up and take a good…LONG….look! 🙂 To prove I’m not completely shallow, I also like Laura Frantz and Erin Bartels. I’ve really enjoyed Irene Hannon’s Hope Harbor series, so look forward to reading the latest installment. Now pardon me while I scroll back up to Lynette’s – tee! hee! hee!

  6. Another bunch of great, intriguing covers. My favorites are the ones by Laura Frantz, Sarah Sundin, Amanda Cabot, and Irene Hannon. It sounds like there’s going to be some fantastic reads from Revell coming up! Woohoo!!

  7. I’m so excited about these in particular!
    -Lynette Eason’s Code of Valor
    -Patricia Bradley’s Justice Delivered
    and
-Never Let Go by Elizabeth Goddard
I also really like the looks of Melody Carlson’s Courting Mr. Emerson
and Sarah Sundin’s The Sky Above Us

    Thanks for sharing these! 🙂

  8. My favorite cover is Lynette Eason’s.

I’m most looking forward to reading Almost Home (I really liked Missing Isaac) and We Hope For Better Things (debut novelist).

  9. OH!MY!GOODNESS! These covers are stunning! 🙂

  10. So I don’t usually buy a book because of a cover model, but Lynette Eason’s cover model for Code of Honor is one of my favorites. Whenever I see him on a cover, I fall in love all over again. It helps that this book is Lynette Eason’s, so I’ll probably will be purchasing it regardless. As for the other covers, they’re okay. 😜 LOL!

Actually, besides Eason’s, I think Laura Frantz’s cover is my favorite. I love the time period setting and the long red hair. I’m also excited to get a non-love inspired book from Elizabeth Goddard.

  11. Michelle Aleckson

Love those romantic suspense books! Lynette’s cover is especially dreamy! 😉

  12. Nice! I am all about the suspense ones pictured…can’t wait!

  13. A Bound Heart and Code of Valor are at the top of my list as must reads for next year.

  14. Can’t wait to read that new Laura Frantz one!

  15. Fabulous covers and fabulous authors! Thanks for sharing.
