Code of ValorWhat Detective Brady St. John really needs is a relaxing vacation. Unfortunately, just as the sun is setting on his second day at a friend’s cabin on Lake Henley, he hears a scream and races to rescue a woman from her would-be killer. When the killer escapes only to return to finish the job, Brady vows to utilize all of his many resources to keep her safe–and catch those who would see her dead.

Financial crimes investigator Emily Chastain doesn’t trust many people. And even though she let the detective who saved her life in on a few pertinent facts about why she was being attacked, there are some things you just don’t share with a stranger. Little does she suspect that the secret she is keeping just might get them both killed.

Why romantic suspense?

Because I love romance and I love danger. Combining them makes perfect sense! LOL

Which element do you prefer writing, and why? (romance or suspense)

Suspense for sure. I love the action scenes and while I love romance, I’m not the most romantic person. I suppose that sounds weird, but give me a great action adventure movie any day over a straight romance story. 🙂

Describe your book in 5 adjectives

Compelling, intense, deep, emotional, memorable

Share a favourite line or passage from the book that made you smile

A short passage just before Brady has to rescue Emily:

But he wasn’t going to think about that. He was going to sit.

And be.

So here he sat.

Just…being.

And he was bored out of his skull.

Where the magic happens – Lynette’s writing space!

Which character did you enjoy writing most?

Emily

Which character gave you the most grief?

Emily. LOL.

Whose story is next?

In Vow of Justice, the readers get to meet FBI special agents Linc St. John and his love, Allie Radcliffe.

Which romantic suspense authors do you like to read? Or do you prefer to read outside your genre?

I still love Dee Henderson, even though her style has changed a bit from her earlier books, Carrie Stuart Parks—although there’s not a whole lot of romance in hers, Lynn H. Blackburn, Dani Pettrey, Colleen Coble, Beth Goddard, and DiAnn Mills. And more… 🙂

How many unpublished and half-finished books do you have?

Not many. LOL. Maybe five or six.

Thanks Lynette!Eason_Lynette
