I’m thrilled to share with you the long-awaited cover and synopsis of Dorothy Adamek’s Carry Me Away, her second Blue Wren Shallows historical romance novel. Inspired by the true story of a devastating shipwreck in 1878, along the Shipwreck Coast in my home state of Victoria, Australia. I’ve had the privilege of reading this stunning novel and it is a beautifully rendered tale of loss and love, with Dorothy’s gorgeous prose and layered characterisation. Carry Me Away releases on November 5, but do pre-order so you get it while the special pre-order price is still available.

You may remember I travelled along the Great Ocean Road earlier this year and visited the very beach where the shipwreck that inspired this story took place. Having read Dorothy’s incredible story, the visit was moving and meaningful in so many ways.

But enough chatter from me! Take a look at this beautiful cover and story….

Inspired by the incredible true story of an Australian shipwreck

and those who survived to tell the tale.

When the Black Swallow sinks off the Australian coast in 1877, Australian midshipman Tom Darley rescues English passenger Ada Carmichael from the disaster that claims her entire family. News of the only two survivors enchants the world, but Ada needs to hide before secrets and old foes find her. Tom is chasing big dreams of a crumbling house he will convert into a small hotel ~ but the promising start he’s acquired now sits at the bottom of the sea.

Inexplicably entangled, Ada and Tom lean upon each other to make sense of the tragedy that’s displaced them. But when scheming journalists observe their affection they drag Tom into life-altering riches and a news-worthy romance he cannot resist. So he arranges for Ada’s protection where only he might find her ~ the quiet Phillip Island farm of his friends Shadrach and Finella Jones.

And that’s where real trouble finds them. When heroic promises fail to shelter, and love refuses to be silenced, only surrender will pluck Ada and Tom from where life has wrecked them.

The cover girl is none other than Dorothy’s beautiful daughter Sophie, and the background image is the very gorge where the real survivors found themselves on that horrific day.

Dorothy’s novels well and truly hold their own alongside talent like Laura Frantz, Joanne Bischof, and Tamera Alexander so if you are yet to discover Dorothy, now is the time! The first Blue Wren Shallows novel, Carry Me Home, is available now and is a must read!

Here’s what the lovely Laura Frantz has to say about Carry Me Away

  4. I have read the first book, thanks to Dorothy who sent me a copy 🙂 I fell in love with Shadrach and Finella. Dorothy is a great storyteller. Finella, leaving her home for a strange country and Shadrach, taking care of his sister and needing help with her. The dynamics had me turning the pages and left me wanting more. I am looking forward to this new adventure in Carry Me Away.
