With one solved case under her belt, PJ Sugar is ready to dive into her career as a private investigator. Or at least a PI’s assistant until she can prove herself to Jeremy Kane, her new boss. Suddenly PJ’s seeing crime everywhere. But is it just in her head, or can she trust her instincts? When she takes on her first official case-house-sitting for a witness in protective custody-Jeremy assures her there‘s no danger involved. But it soon becomes clear that there is someone after the witness . . . and now they’re after PJ, too.
My take:~
Double Trouble heralds the return of Susan May Warren’s delightful trainee PI and trouble magnet, PJ Sugar. As PJ determines to impress everyone in Kellogg with her reformed ways and superior investigative skills she is dogged by the natural pull she feels towards her high school flame, Detective Boone Buckam and new feelings of deep connection to Jeremy. Humour and suspense abound in equal measure yet it is the multi layered characterisation of PJ, Jeremy and Boone that gives this story a unique perspective. The reader feels just as unsure of the outcome as PJ as she wrestles with her natural affinity for trouble and heartache with her desire to live her faith and see herself as God sees her.
Susan May Warren has secured another home run with Double Trouble and you can be assured, having read it, you will be hanging out for the conclusion in Licensed for Trouble, releasing in August, 2010.

I really loved this book too, but I think I love everything Susan writes. Are you Team Jeremy or Team Boone?
