Molly by Sarah Monzon

Synopsis:~

If there’s one thing you should know about me, it’s that I absolutely refuse to tell a lie no matter the consequences. So don’t ask me a direct question unless you’re prepared for a direct answer—that’s something my SoCal sewing girlfriends have learned the hard way.

But who would have thought my honesty policy would get me fired from my job at the preschool? Or that a desperate—and not to mention devastatingly handsome—single father of one of my (now-former) students would hire me that same day as a nanny for his daughter?

I’m an education professional. How hard can taking care of a four-year-old and her over-stressed, over-worked father be?

Necee’s take:~

“He loved his daughter beyond compare. Was there anything sexier on this planet than a father who adored and doted on and protected his offspring?”

Oh my goodness, the heart of a single father and his love for his daughter shines in this book and will thoroughly melt your heart. No wonder Molly is so taken with Ben and his daughter. It more than makes up for losing her job and becoming a nanny for him. This is a sweet and swoony romance, with a fun SoCal setting. I admit I wasn’t so sure about the “sewing” group, but honestly, I loved it by the end and want my own sewing group! Molly is a true friend, which I really loved about her.

“Diversity is one of the things that makes this country beautiful. That makes it great. Don’t try to white-wash history or current events to fit your misconceptions.”

Monzon has a way with bringing out serious subjects in the midst of humor and, wow, did she knock it out of the park with Molly. She isn’t afraid to tackle issues surrounding culture and racism. She teaches how friends can talk through the struggles and enlightens readers about the prejudices around them. Her words are inspiring and I wish I could publish them across the headlines. Another subject that is often overlooked in healthy ways is the area of grief. Monzon walks Ben through the grayness of days into light shining color into his life with Molly. With a focus on how God can help in the healing process, this book is truly a jewel to finding a happy ending. Truly an inspiring, heartfelt read.

“Then shafts of light shoot through and you wonder to yourself, what is that? The thick fog thins and all that was shadowy and gray comes into focus and color.”

The essence of living and finding the life God has for you…that’s what this story truly shares. Letting go of the past to find your happily ever after…with unicorns, sprinkles, and a lot of pink thrown into the mix for a special little girl.

With humor, romance, and lovable characters this is a great new series! Don’t miss it, especially if you are a contemporary romance or romantic comedy fan. I’m looking forward to Jocelyn’s story next and seeing what this sewing group does next!

I received a copy of the book from the publisher. All opinions have been given honestly.
