*****

Cake or Cookies

Hmmm. Depends on the cake or the cookie. I love cheesecake (although I’ve always thought it was actually more like a pie!), but I also like coconut macaroons. How about coconut macaroon cake? LOL!

Call or Text

Up to a few months ago…I didn’t text. Didn’t want to bother with it. I text now, but it can be frustrating. I think I’d rather talk. Something I do a lot of!

Coke or Pepsi

Used to be Coke, but I rarely drink pop now. Water and tea for me! One caveat: With Mexican food it has to be Diet Coke or Pepsi. Can’t explain why.

Dogs or Cats

I love both. I guess if I had to choose, I’d say “dog.” It seems like they need you more. Cats have their own mind. They come to you if they feel like it. Of course, my dog, Watson, acts like that. Hmmm. Wonder if he has some cat in him…

Eggs or Pancakes

Oh, boy. Usually eggs, but only because they’re easier to make than pancakes!

Facebook or Twitter

No question here. Facebook. I just don’t get Twitter. I have a Twitter disability, I think. Many people have tried to explain it to me, but to no avail. I love Facebook. I’ve made so many good friends!

First person or Third person

Interesting question. I started out in third. Only sold to small publishers. Switched to first. Got my first large contract. Kept writing in first for quite a while. My current publisher suggested third. I was a little afraid of it. But once I went back to third, I fell in love with it. I really enjoy sharing other points of view. Don’t know if I’d go back to first now.

Instagram or Pinterest

Don’t do either!

Marvel or DC

Ummm. Neither. Not into comics. As far as super heroes in movies? My favourite is IronMan. I love Robert Downey, Jr.! (Is that Marvel or DC?)

Paperback or EBook

I used to say paperback. But then I got a Kindle. Love it, love it, love it! I can make the letters larger so I can read without my glasses. When I get in bed at night, I can read for a while in the dark. I still get hardcover or paperback books because I like to collect them. I have an extensive library. Lots of signed books. But you’d have to fight me to take away my Kindle!

Summer or Winter

WINTER, WINTER, WINTER!!! I’m not a summer person. Hate sweat, flies, and mosquitoes! I really enjoy snow. The past two winters we’ve had almost no snow in Missouri. I may have to move. Sigh.

Sweet or Spicy

Hmmm. Depends on the food. I mean, I’d hate spicy ice cream. But I really enjoy Mexican food. So I guess I’d say “spicy!’

Tattoos or Piercings

I have to pick one? Uh…I don’t have any tattoos, although I’m not opposed to them. The only piercings I have are on my ear lobes. Getting them pierced was traumatic. Don’t think I could face getting anything else pierced!

Tea or Coffee

I drink tea a lot, but I really enjoy coffee. So, I guess both.

Thornton or Darcy

Darcy!

Yoga Pants or Jeans

Jeans. I don’t think I’d look good in Yoga pants, and I don’t do Yoga. Looks like it hurts. LOL!

Zoo or Aquarium

Zoo! I love animals. Of course, I like fish too. Just want to be clear that I have no prejudices against fish… Don’t want nasty comments from fish people… 😉

Blind Betrayal

Fast Facts (20)

Blind Betrayal

Deputy U.S. Marshal Casey Sloane has worked at the St. Louis Marshals office for two years and is given a routine assignment to help transport a reporter to D.C. to testify before a grand jury. Valerie, the reporter, was writing a story about an up-and-coming environmentalist who suddenly disappeared and, she later discovered, whose backers purportedly have ties to a terrorist.

When the seemingly ordinary assignment suddenly takes a shocking turn, Casey is forced to put aside her own feelings about the unexpected reappearance of a man from her past as she and two other Marshals take Valerie on the run. And as it becomes dangerously clear Valerie’s testimony has even bigger implications than they knew, they’ll do whatever it takes to make it out alive.

  1. Loved getting to know you, Nancy! We have a few things in common – love tea and coffee, love both print and e-books, prefer jeans (I look terrible in yoga pants), can only do Facebook and nothing else, and only have piercings on earlobes though not opposed to other piercings or tattoos. You must try Marvel movies, though….they’re pretty awesome!

  2. I find it interesting that Nancy doesn’t use twitter but the rafflecopter says to tweet! I don’t either tweet.

I love all things coconut so a coconut macaroon cheesecake sounds perfect!

  3. Facebook, eggs, and jeans are some of the favorites Nancy and I share. I like both print and ebooks; just love having something good to read. I’ve read several of Nancy’s books, though I haven’t begun this series yet. I know her books are very good. Thanks for the interview and giveaway.

  4. We have a few things in common… I also think I have a Twitter disability! Love coffee and tea, prefer zoos but like both, and of course Darcy! Isn’t it sad we have to specify “no prejudices”? We all have our own opinions and favorites. Anyway, I enjoy the suspense/mystery genre and look forward to reading this one! Blessings!

  5. Thanks for stopping by, Kelly!

  6. We have some things in common, but I still like print books, even though I have a Kindle! I’ve never got into Twitter, but I like Pinterest. Haven’t read your new book, but have loved the others that I have read.

  7. Love Nancy books

  8. Dear Nancy, Hi! I enjoy your books. I like a variety of Christian fiction genres, but especially like Christian suspense stories! Thanks for the opportunity to enter a giveaway! Would love to win a print copy of your book, “Blind Betrayal.” I also enjoy green tea, chocolate, crocheting, playing my Paraguayan harp, telling people about the Lord, and reading! Take care now, and God bless!

  9. Terrill Rosado

Third Person, ebooks and Darcy! Although I don’t mind reading in First Person if it’s written well, I find that I like third person more.

    • Hi, Terrill. I actually started out writing in first person. My editor asked me to try third, and I love it. It helps to add other characters’ points of view. Especially my bad guys. LOL!

  10. I also drink tea, but enjoy coffee, and prefer zoo over aquarium.

  11. I also prefer jeans over yoga pants and love having physical books to collect, but prefer the convenience of my kindle!

    • My reading time has actually increased because of my Kindle. Snuggling up in bed with it helps me to fall asleep – unless I’m reading a Patricia Bradley book. No sleeping through one of those! LOL!

  12. I love Nancy’s books! And I hate to see the Defender series end…

    • I do too, Pat. But my next series is really, really special to me. I don’t know if I’ve ever been as excited about a series as I am about this one. 🙂

  13. Danielle Hammelef

I love first person POV best and always write from this perspective. I’m also a huge fan of spicy food.

  14. Interesting interview. Nice getting to know more about Nancy. Enjoyed the description of the book, sounds like a great read.

  15. Thanks for the fun interview/spotlight, Rel and Nancy. I’m with Nancy on cheesecake and Facebook. I don’t do Twitter, either, and I’m on Instagram and Pinterest, but I don’t do much on them. I’m kind of technologically challenged.

    • You’re doing better than I am, Winnie. I was on Pinterest for a while, but some guy kept trying to steal my account. I gave up. May venture back one of these days.

      • I don’t think 3got anyone actually following my Pinterest account, Nancy. 😀 I just pin things occasionally. I HAVE figured out how to pin the book covers of books I’m promoting for authors on it, though. I’m sorry you had trouble with your account.

  16. I enjoyed getting to know Nancy. I share the love of cheesecake. That is my favorite dessert! Thanks for the interview and the giveaway.

  17. Sounds like a read good mystery. God bless the winner!

  18. I have dogs, eggs and Facebook in common with Nancy!

  19. Becky Chandler

Hi, Nancy, I’m with you, cheesecake is the best dessert! I, too, collect books (especially yours) and I’m so looking forward to getting a copy of “Blind Betrayal” and reading it while sipping on a nice cold glass of green tea! I so enjoy following you on Facebook. Miss you here in Wichita!

  20. We have #DARCY in common!!!

  21. Carol Alscheff

We have very similar likes. I really do like macaroon cake sounds like fun.

  22. Carolyn Hutson

I love coffee and drink sweet tea!

  23. I love Nancy’s books! I also like spicy Chai tea!
