My take:~

Ann Shorey’s debut novel extends far beyond the standard historical romance. Delving deep into the heartache of a pioneer women, desperate to protect her children after the death of her husband, Ann has created a complex character in Molly as she fights prejudice and pity. Molly’s ability to adapt her life and emotions for the benefit of her family is admirable and challenging and makes for an engaging story. Ann’s storytelling is stamped with authenticity and substance, the romance marked by restoration and relationship providing readers with a multi faceted and mature tale.
