The Escape by Lisa Harris (with giveaway)

Synopsis:~

US Marshals Madison James and Jonas Quinn are thrust into a high-profile case when they are called on to transport two prisoners across the country on a private plane. But when the plane experiences engine trouble en route from the Pacific Northwest to Colorado, the pilots crash-land the aircraft deep in the heart of the sprawling Salmon-Challis National Forest.

When Madison and Jonas regain consciousness, they find both pilots and one prisoner dead–and one fugitive on the run. They’ll have to negotiate the rugged and remote backcountry through Idaho, Wyoming, and Colorado while tracking a murderer who is desperate to disappear–and will do anything to stop them.

This high-octane game of cat-and-mouse from bestselling and award-winning author Lisa Harris will have your heart pumping as you try to catch a fugitive with nothing to lose.

Necee’s take:~

“Their worse-case scenario—one they tried to avoid at all costs—had just become a reality.”

Two U.S. marshals. Two convicts. One downed plane. The chase is on…and where it will go will keep you on the tips of your toes. There are so many unexpected twists and turns that I was engaged from beginning until end. I can’t wait for the next book in the series. There is an underlying threat that had me hooked to know more of Madison’s story. This is the first book in the U.S. Marshalls series and it’s going to be a hit.

“There is a razor-thin edge between justice and revenge, where the two easily blur if left unchecked.”

Madison and Jonas made a great team professionally, as well as both overcoming past struggles with grief and loss. I’m excited to see where this series goes. I thought they worked well together and look forward to seeing their relationship develop. I loved how they worked out some of the issues around being a female U.S. Marshal. It seemed very realistic to the job. I really enjoyed the adventure, danger, and light thread of romance that played a minor role to their relationship. When the prison transfer went wrong, I was intrigued by the hunt and thought it gave a great picture of what it would be like as a Marshal.

Lisa Harris delivers nonstop entertainment in her latest series The Escape. This is a promising start to a new series. If you love movies like “The Fugitive” and “U.S. Marshals,” I think you will really enjoy this series.

I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

  1. No, I have never worked in a job that was considered to be a man’s world.

  2. I worked as an engineer and I was the only woman engineer, so yes, I have.

  3. I’m an Administrative Assistant for an all male department at my job. Thankfully, I don’t have to do all the ‘dirty’ work they do, but it’s an interesting dynamic working with all men, but we all get along and I enjoy my work immensely.

  4. No I never have.

  5. I have not. Thanks for the chance.

No I haven’t. Thank you for sharing. Happy Thanksgiving 🦃

  7. I enjoyed working as an Administrative Assistant with an all male team. Men are easier to work with than women.

  8. No I haven’t worked in a job like that.
