Top Ten Tuesday: Favourite Trope

Top Ten Tuesday

I needed a little help from a friend for this week’s Top Ten Tuesday post, hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. I chose a romance trope – friends to lovers (so to speak!) – as a trope I’m fond of and have enjoyed many time over. That said, coming up with ten when my brain is a little fried was a challenge! Enter my ‘phone a friend’ book lover, Katie Donovan of Fiction Aficionado, who helped bolster my list by reminding me of ones I have read and loved. I delight in many a different trope but sticking to one for this post was as much as I could handle 😉 Do you have a favourite trope? Would love you to share your Top Ten Tuesday link, or tell us your most beloved trope in the comments below!

Hope you discover some new books to read…

  1. Friends to lovers is a great trope.

    My TTT

  2. It definitely helps when your “phone a friend” loves this trope too! So many good ones here! xo

  3. I love hidden identities. Like Seaside Letters by Denise Hunter.

  4. I like hatred turned to attraction. I point thee to many a Tamara Leigh’s books with a dash of Ronie Kendig. Two of my ABSOLUTE favs.

  5. This is probably my favorite trope too! My TTT

  6. Sweet on You and the best friends to romance trope will forever be a favorite! I don’t remember specifics but do seem to recall I really did like Dee’s military fiction, so I should someday re-read those. 🙂 “Just a Kiss” and anything by Melissa (that QUEEN of meet-cutes!) are favorites too.

  7. Yay! Friends to lovers is SUCH a good trope. I am definitely going to look into the books I don’t know from your list.

  8. YES a million times over to Landon & Piper, Raegan & Bear, and Jake & Lyndie!! Those three DEFINITELY make it to the top of my list of Favourite Friends to Lovers trope couples too!! I also LOVE your Dee Henderson and Denise Hunter entries…

To be honest, while I do enjoy this trope immensely, it also irritates me sometimes too, as a lot of the time it seems as though it’s the guy that figures his feelings out first and thus is the one left pining for the majority of the book. All of the titles you listed though are absolutely the exceptions to that rule. Another is a rather old one, but I just had to mention it; Jo & Danny from the Smart Chick Mysteries series by Mindy Starns Clark.
