Synopsis:~

Her relationship with former fiancé Paul Waddell in tatters, Hannah Lapp has fled her home in hopes of finding refuge with another Amish outcast, her shunned Aunt Zabeth in Ohio. Hampered by limited education and hiding her true identity, Hannah struggles to understand the confusing world of the Englischers and embrace unfamiliar freedoms, but a deepening friendship with the handsome Martin Palmer renews her courage to face the future.

Meanwhile, Hannah’s absence and the distressing events that led to her disappearance create turmoil among her loved ones in Owl’s Perch, Pennsylvania. Her father stubbornly refuses to search for her or to acknowledge increasing signs of instability in daughter Sarah, who suffers secret guilt over her sister’s ruined reputation. Fiancé Paul Waddell is wracked with regret over his betrayal of Hannah’s trust and is concerned with her whereabouts. He befriends Hannah’s remaining allies—brother Luke, best friend Mary, and loyal Matthew Esh—trying to convince them to help search for his love.

Rich with authentic details of Amish community and powerful in its theme of hope beyond measure, When the Morning Comes succeeds as a compelling follow-up to Cindy Woodsmall’s best-selling debut novel, When the Heart Cries.

  1. It’s like they have a secret life – you only know what is happening if you are living in the community otherwise, you are an outsider. A story gives you a chance to have a peek inside.

  2. I have read a few books on the Amish and it gives you an insight.also they live a simple life and seem content to live that way.its good to learn about the different ways people worship. Please enter me. i have seen these books and been tempted to buy them along with many others.

  5. Oh yes, enter me too please 🙂 I saw the first book in Koorong the other day and with an iron will I left it there (you have no idea how hard that was!!!).The thing I love about Amish based stories is that I am able to peek into their lives, which is otherwise difficult to do, as they are so private. I love the uncomplicated nature of their lives, the simplicity of their faith and I love that they work together as a community to remain self sufficient in providing for their needs.

  6. Please enter me in too. I find the amish lifestyle quite intriging because it is so different to ours. The book sounds good.

  7. It is fascinating to read about people with a different lifesytle. In some ways their’s has some simplicity to it that draws me.
