Thought you might like to see a little of what I was up to last week, and it’s an excuse to show off God’s creation called Australia! My husband and I had a week in a gorgeous cottage in Johanna, about 3 hours from our home, nestled in the Otway Ranges. It’s amazing country with stunning beaches and staggering cliffs, with rolling hills filled with cattle and sheep, and waterfalls in rainforests in between. The coastline is called the Shipwreck Coast, known for it’s historical dangers to wayward ships, and is home to our famous 12 Apostles, although only 8 remain. I took a bundle of books to read but spent more time enjoying the scenery and my husband’s company than getting through the pages!
Enjoy…and apologies to the lovely Amy as there are no planking pics 😉

My reading couch!
My reading stash, minus my Bible and Kindle which were on my bedside table!
Our famous 12 Apostles. The photo does not do those cliffs justice – they are enormous!
London Bridge ~ the last time I was here, I walked across the bridge. It collapsed in 1990, leaving two people stranded who were rescued by helicopter.
And finally, here’s what I was reading on my Kindle, the highly anticipated Carry Me Away by the talented Dorothy Adamek, her second Blue Wren Shallows novel. This was the second reading for me and it gave me goosebumps to have it in my hand at the very location of the tragedy that inspired her gorgeous story. Loch Ard Gorge is so named in honour of the Loch Ard, a clipper ship from England that came to grief in 1878, leaving only two young survivors, Tom Pearce and Eva Carmichael.
It was on this beach that Tom heard a woman crying for help!
It looks quite serene in this picture but the waves pound through the two cliffs and they remain sheer behind the beach. Be sure to head over to Dorothy’s website and sign up for her newsletter where she is offering a wonderful giveaway and you can be the first to learn more about Carry Me Away. Trust me, this is an historical romance you won’t want to miss!
I hope you enjoyed this little travel log! Regular programming returns this week 🙂

Amazing photos! I just finished reading The Lost Man by Jane Harper. The book is based in Australia and it’s so different from what I imagine. These pictures are just beautiful.

I haven’t read it, but it’s set in the Outback which is a pretty unique setting, so some places here may not be as different 🙂 Glad you enjoyed these photos, Dianna!

Amazing scenery Rel! I would love to be at that cottage and enjoy some great books, but I would be hard-pressed to stay in with so much to explore. Maybe a few days to see all the beauty and a few more for sitting back and reading. The perfect getaway.

Thank you for sharing these amazing photos! I’m on the final pages of a general market mystery set in an area of drought-ridden Australia so it’s refreshing to to be reminded of the lush green areas of your country.
