Bookish Question of the Week

rp_Quoftheweek1-300x30011-300x3001111.pngSo, a fun one today! You remember what it is like when you discover an author and can’t wait to get your hands on their books as they release? Or even better, when you discover a multi-published author that is new to you and you have the joy of an entire back list to discover and read!

My question this week is…

Which authors’ books (with a back list of five or more) do you own in their entirety?

Here’s just a few of mine…Tamara Leigh, Ronie Kendig, Susan May Warren, Robert Liparulo, Jim Rubart, Laura Frantz, Bodie Thoene, Siri Mitchell, Sarah Sundin, Angela Hunt…I could go on, and on, and on!

  1. Jean Plaidy’s books.

    • Nancy » Do you have everything written under her other pseudonyms, too? I’ve read a couple of her Victoria Holt novels if I remember correctly from my late teen years 🙂

  2. I own all the books by Laura Frantz, Susan May Warren, Julie Klassen, Deeanne Gist, Ronie Kendig, Jenny B Jones, Karen Witemeyer, Siri Mitchell, Elizabeth Camden, Tammy L Gray, Jody Hedlund, Emilie Loring, Tamara Leigh, Kristen Heitmzann, among others. When I find an author I like I buy every one of their books.

    • Brittaney B » I’m missing a couple of Dee Gist’s and don’t have any of Emilie Loring’s, but a big yes on owning the backlists of everyone else you mentioned!! Love it 🙂

  3. Can I count Robin Jones Gunn? I don’t own the two books she co-wrote with other people or her out-of-print children’s books. Otherwise I own all her other books. Even both versions of Christy Miller’s diary and two different whole cover sets of the Christy Miller series. I’ll count her anyway. 🙂

I have most of the books of several authors, but not all of their books right now. I’ve kept up to date with reading their new ones and back list (library), and have their others on my to-purchase-eventually list. I wish I could list those.

    Robin Jones Gunn
Laura Frantz (her latest is in my Amazon Shopping cart; haven’t clicked the order button yet)
    Sibella Giorello
    Kaye Dacus
Julie Klassen (missing one; have read it)
Sarah Sundin (all but the one with her novella included)
    Jane Austen

  4. Elizabeth Camden, Laura Frantz, Cathy Marie Hake (not counting novellas), Jen Turano, Karen Witemeyer, Dani Pettrey, and I think I’m one book short for Mary Connealy. With the possible exception of a few children’s authors, I think that’s it.

  5. Sibella Giorello
    Dee Henderson

  6. Wow, that is a LOT of books in their entirety! That’s how Karen Witemeyer was/has been for me {though admittedly, I don’t have her latest}. I discovered her not too long after her third book was out, so I bought her current books and was hooked when Short-Straw Bride came out! I own all of Siri Mitchell’s, Laura Frantz’s, Julie Klassen’s {also minus the most recent}, Jody Hedlund’s and have a ton of Lori Wick’s, since I basically read every book of hers that I could get my hands on several years ago! Sadly, though I own so many, a lot are still unread. And lastly, Lisa Bergren’s River of Time series is my absolute favorite and I checked Amazon way to often for over a year to see when Deluge was coming out, yet I haven’t tried any of her other series, other than owning the first in the Remnants series. Maybe I’m not as devoted as I think I am to certain authors.

  7. Fun question, Rel.

Ted Dekker’s takes up one shelf but I also own the entire Clive Cussler collection (except the 2 kids novels) which stands at about 60 and still counting. But I will also admit I haven’t read them all. He generates so many that makes it hard to keep up.

  8. Fun question! There are several authors whose books I own all of! Julie Lessman, Ronie Kendig, Dani Pettrry, Jody Hedlund, Jenny B. Jones, Sarah Sundin, and Karen Witemeyer. Susan May Warren and Mary Connealy usually make this list but I still need to get Susan’s newest book and one more of Mary’s

  9. Deborah Raney, Gina Holmes, Jessica Dotta, Barbara Davis, Diann Hunt, Sandie Bricker, Haywood Smith.

  10. Honored to make your list, Rel! And what fabulous company to be in 🙂

  11. Tamara Leigh!! And I am patiently awaiting the release of “Baron Of Emberly” – pacing…pacing…pacing…lol

  12. I think about the only one I have in it’s (almost) entirety, is Frank Perretti. 99.9% of the time I don’t re-read books, I donate them to my library or give them to my sister-in-law & niece to read. Mr. Perretti is the excepttion 🙂

  13. I have the unfortunate or fortunate habit (depending on which side of the transaction you stand on) of giving away books after I have read them. So while I have read everything by Francine Rivers and Robert Whiltow, I don’t physically have all their books. Their stories do still reside in my heart. I do have a bunch of Liz Curtis Higgs novels because they are signed copies. Great question Rel!
