Bethany House’s Summer reads (or winter for me in the Southern Hemisphere!) are here for your inspection! Bethany’s covers are always striking and always high quality even the ones that may not appeal so much to me. Story wise, I’m looking forward to them all but especially can’t wait to read Blood and Bone (Jack’s back in Oz!), Elizabeth Camden’s, Karen’s, Jen’s and Becky’s. And Dee’s final O’Malley story – so hoping it is fabulous 🙂
Cover wise ~ love the different look for Julianna Deering’s (you may know her by another name!), Into the Whirlwind, King and Blood and Bone!
Click on the title links to pre-order, on the author’s name to check out their website, and on the covers for an enlarged pic and closer examination.
Finally, and most importantly, please share your thoughts – I love your comments!
Which ones catch your eye and/or you can’t wait to read?

Undeniably Yours by Becky Wade
When Meg Cole’s father dies unexpectedly, she becomes the majority shareholder of his oil company and the single inheritor of his fortune. Though Meg is soft-spoken and tenderhearted–more interested in art than in oil–she’s forced to return home to Texas and to Whispering Creek Ranch to take up the reins of her father’s empire.
The last thing she has the patience or the sanity to deal with? Her father’s thoroughbred racehorse farm. She gives its manager, Bo Porter, six months to close the place down.
Bo’s determined to resent the woman who’s decided to rob him of his dream. But instead of anger, Meg evokes within him a profound desire to protect. The more time he spends with her, the more he longs to overcome every obstacle that separates them–her wealth, his unworthiness, her family’s outrage–and earn the right to love her.
But just when Meg begins to realize that Bo might be the one thing on the ranch worth keeping, their fragile bond is viciously broken by a force from Meg’s past. Can their love–and their belief that God can work through every circumstance–survive?

Trouble in Store by Carol Cox

But Caleb Nelson is positive he inherited the mercantile, and he’s not about to let some obstinate woman with newfangled ideas mess up all he’s worked for. The problem is, Caleb soon realizes he doesn’t want her to marry up with any of them. He’s drawn to Melanie more every day, and he has to admit some of her ideas for the store unexpectedly offer positive results.
But someone doesn’t want the store to succeed, and what used to be just threatening words has escalated into deliberate destruction and lurkers in the night. But when he finally gets away, he’s haunted by the memory of the young woman he left behind–a woman whose dreams now hinge on him.

A man to help her discover answers to the questions that have been on her heart for so long. But just when it seems God has answered her prayers, it turns out the parson is there against his will and has dreams of his own calling him elsewhere. Is there any way she can convince Crockett to stay in her little backwoods community? And does the attraction between them have any chance of blossoming when Joanna’s outlaw father is dead set against his daughter courting a preacher?

Miss Arabella Beckett has one driving passion: to help the downtrodden women of America. Naturally, she supports the women’s suffrage movement and eagerly attends rallies and lectures across the country. On her travels, she makes a simple offer of assistance to a young woman in need that goes sadly awry and lands both ladies in more trouble than they can manage. An independent sort, Arabella is loath to admit she needs help and certainly doesn’t need help from an arrogant, narrow-minded knight in shining armor.
Mr. Theodore Wilder, private investigator extraordinaire, is on a mission. A mission that began as a favor to his good friend Hamilton Beckett, but swiftly evolved into a merry chase across the country. By the time he finally tracks down Hamilton’s sister, Arabella, he is in a less than pleasant mood. When the lady turns out to have radical ideas and a fiercely independent streak, he soon finds himself at his wit’s end.
When they return home to New York, circumstances force their paths to continue to cross, but the most peculiar feelings growing between them certainly can’t be love. When the trouble Arabella had accidentally stirred up seems to have followed her to New York and threatens her very life, the unlikely couple must face the possibility that they might have landed in the most peculiar circumstance of all: love.

October 26, 2012 at 4:13 pm
Laura J » Elizabeth is getting better and better with each story so this one should be phenomenal!
October 26, 2012 at 1:44 pm
I can’t wait for Undeniably Yours and Sweet Mercy! I loved Becky Wade’s first novel, and Ann Tatlock’s books are always fantastic.
October 26, 2012 at 4:12 pm
Brenda Anderson » I’m with you, Brenda! I like Ann’s cover as well – sweet, just like the title 🙂
October 26, 2012 at 2:22 pm
OH. MY. GOSH! These are all (or nearly :D) STUNNING! Love Becky’s (can’t wait) and am now thinking ‘part 2’ of my “cover candy” posts should be hurriedly put together tonight for tomorrow! Thanks, as always, Rel! ;D
October 26, 2012 at 4:11 pm
Rissi » Thanks for dropping by – I agree with you on Becky’s book.
October 26, 2012 at 3:10 pm
Rel, It’s stunning to see all these Bethany House covers + book summaries in one place! Thank you for compiling and posting this. I’m excited, because now that I’ve seen Undeniably Yours here, it’s release doesn’t feel so very far away to me any more! If it’s on Relz Reviewz then it must be coming around the corner. You’re wonderful! Thank you for your amazing support of Christian authors.
October 26, 2012 at 4:10 pm
Becky Wade » Hey Becky – dying to read UY 🙂 Such a cute cover, too. I know it’s early but I just can’t help myself!
October 27, 2012 at 3:08 am
Thank you, Rel! I’m excited for you to read Undeniably Yours. As you could tell from My Stubborn Heart, I love a love story.
October 26, 2012 at 3:15 pm
This is a stunning group of covers! I am excited for Julianna’s and Lisa Ludwig’s as I LOVE historical mysteries! And the design of Julianna’s cover is do strikingly different. I love the fantasy covers, especially Anne’s and I LOVE the historical covers, especially Elizabeth Camden’s and Jen Turano’s. But the cover that captures me the most for its design is Karen’s. The look on her face with her eyes tilted upward and then her hands folded in a prayer gesture says so much! What a fantastic design! I am excited about any story by Tracie, too! Love her so much! Thanks again, Rel.
October 26, 2012 at 4:09 pm
Aaron McCarver » LOVE your thoughts on the covers. Funnily enough, I thought Karen’s was a bit plain compared to her previous ones though I agree it conveys a lot.
October 26, 2012 at 3:18 pm
Oh, how cool is THAT! This is so exciting. Summer seems a long way away . . . 😉
October 26, 2012 at 4:05 pm
DeAnna Julie Dodson » As cool as your cover, DeAnna 🙂 Adore that Bethany has tried something different that so fits the story!
October 27, 2012 at 10:01 am
Thanks so much for including Rules. Yes, Bethany House did a wonderful job on that cover, didn’t they?
It’s very 1930s looking and perfect for my 1930s book.
I’m SO excited!
October 27, 2012 at 4:49 pm
DeAnna Julie Dodson » I’m looking forward to reading it, DeAnna 🙂
October 26, 2012 at 4:02 pm
I think my favorite cover of the bunch might just be Trouble in Store. 🙂 I just love the color combinations, the model’s expression, her reflection in the window, and the subtle suspense of the setting. And I loved Love in Disguise, so I have high hopes for this one! 🙂
I’m also looking forward to Stealing the Preacher, Dragonwitch, and Into the Whirlwind. I’m not quite sure how I feel about that latter cover… Elizabeth Camden’s last two covers were just so lovely, and this one is pretty, but looks a bit more “old school,” you know? But it’s sometimes hard to tell with the computer images!
Thanks for sharing the cover candy – I love it!!

Becky Wade’s is super-cute, I can’t wait to read it. Elizabeth Camden’s got another great cover.
I’m kinda disappointed with some of them, I guess it’s just me. Usually Bethany House wows me with their covers!
October 27, 2012 at 4:57 pm
Kate » Oh, Kate – do tell! Which ones did you find disappointing? It’s fun to share thoughts and ideas on covers – shows we are all different 🙂
October 27, 2012 at 1:02 am
‘rules of murder’ sounds so unique and refreshing! i’ll read the becky wade because i found the first one, while far from perfect, showed a LOT of potential. camden’s always on my radar ( her second novel was exceptional and i am just starting the third). i have high hopes for the jen turano (haven’t read the first yet); because it has been so highly publicized; but i will have to see what i think of her debut before i go on and pre-order the second.
the cover on the carol cox is the best of the lot, methinks. ‘love in disguise’ was super cute, so i will check that one out.
October 27, 2012 at 4:56 pm
rachel mcmillan » Carol’s is so simple yet very eye-catching, I agree. I’m keen to hear your thoughts on Elizabeth’s recent one. Bane is a great hero and it was good to see him matched well 😉
October 27, 2012 at 1:11 am
I love how you debut all these covers in one luscious bunch, Rel! So fun!!! I’m excited to hear you say that you are looking forward to Crockett’s story. I had a lot of fun with it. It’s not every day you get to see a preacher tied up on the cover of a Christian novel. LOL.
October 27, 2012 at 2:08 am
I am looking forward to it also!!
October 27, 2012 at 4:54 pm
Karen Witemeyer » Thanks Karen! I’d read STP just for Crockett’s name – LOL! Love it! And because I know it will be a terrific tale, as always. Thanks for joining in the fun!
October 27, 2012 at 2:07 am
Having just read Elizabeth Ludwig’s No Safe Harbor, I am super excited about book two in her Edge of Freedom series! LOVE that it is focusing on the brother now!
October 27, 2012 at 4:53 pm
Marie Burton » No Safe Harbor was great, wasn’t it? Eoghan caught my eye in the first book, too 🙂
October 27, 2012 at 3:01 am
Oh goodness! What GOOD work Bethany House does! I’ve already preordered Becky Wade’s book and can’t wait!!! Elizabeth Ludwig’s is another for the wish list after that fabulous first. I got to see Karen’s at ACFW and I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!! Oh sigh. I love, love, love these posts!!
October 27, 2012 at 4:53 pm
Casey » Adore your enthusiasm, Casey – makes my giddiness seem much more appropriate ;-D
October 27, 2012 at 3:15 am
Rules of Murder…I LOVE that cover! It’s completely different from ANY style I’ve ever seen in Christian fiction and it’s pretty awesome!
And I’m laughing (in a good way) at Karen’s. Like she said, it’s not everyday you see a preacher or any man for that matter tied up on a cover of inspirational fiction. 😉 Can’t wait to read that one and so many more…yet another reason to look forward to summer.
October 27, 2012 at 4:52 pm
Renee C. » Hey, love having you visit!! I totally agree with you on Rules of Murder – different and totally suited to the era/genre. Karen’s are always fun, aren’t they?!
October 27, 2012 at 6:30 am
I LOVE these cover posts! A batch of new covers is better than Christmas to me =) I think the ones I’m most looking forward to are Karen, Carol and R. J.’s but these are all gorgeous covers!
October 27, 2012 at 4:50 pm
Liz Riggs » I agree with you about looking at new covers being like Christmas! I get all giddy ;-D Carol’s is terrific and should be a great read.
October 27, 2012 at 2:34 pm
I love the cover for Into the Whirlwind! And I won’t miss Leslie Gould’s next book–her idea of setting Amish stories to Shakespeare plots is so much fun.
October 27, 2012 at 4:49 pm
Ann Shorey » I love the cover for Into the Whirlwind, too, although I’m not sure about the filigree border ;-D
I didn’t realise that Leslie’s books were Shakespearian in nature!! I’ll have to check them out. Lovely to have you here, Ann xo
October 28, 2012 at 1:20 am
I just got a copy of Leslie’s Courting Cate (based on The Taming of the Shrew). I can’t wait to dive into it. What a clever idea, and of course the book is beautiful! 😀
October 28, 2012 at 3:30 am
Rel, Leslie Gould’s current release, “Courting Cate” is a retelling of “Taming of the Shrew.” In her blog, she says “Adoring Addie” is based on “Romeo and Juliet.” I suspect she’ll have to change the ending of the play just a bit. 🙂
October 30, 2012 at 1:18 pm
Ann Shorey » Well, yes! Though it would be something totally different if she remained true to the ending of R & J!!
October 28, 2012 at 12:15 pm
SO fun! Go Christian Fiction!
But, ahem.. I can’t help it…
I’m SOO excited for :
Witemeyer,
Wade
Camden
Cox
Thanks for sharing, Rel! Loved seeing this. 🙂
October 30, 2012 at 1:17 pm
Ganise » It’s exciting, isn’t it?! Thanks for sharing about the ones you can’t wait for!
October 28, 2012 at 10:46 pm
Wow there is a LOT of historically based work there. Being a long-time O’Malley fan I’m really hoping to enjoy the calibre of writing I fell in love with in Dee’s early days. I’ve been waiting a long time for Jennifer’s story!
October 30, 2012 at 1:16 pm
Tracy » Isn’t there?! I’d love to see them do more contemporary novels though they have made themselves a name in the historical romance genre. I’m very interested to see if Dee recaptures her brilliance in Jennifer, too!
