Dani Pettrey: This or That (with giveaway)

The Writer & her Book (67)

Since I assisted with the release of her debut novel in 2012, I’ve had the pleasure of knowing the delightful Dani Pettrey and it’s great to have her back here at Relz Reviewz, sharing her preferences with us! We are giving away a copy of Dead Drift (thanks to Bethany House Publishers), the final Chesapeake Valor novel resolving the mystery behind the disappearance of Luke Gallagher which readers have been teased with from the first book! Enjoy getting to know Dani a little more today!

Over to you, Dani…

*****

Cake or Cookies

Very tough choice. My older daughter makes the best chocolate chip cookies, but my younger one makes the best chocolate-espresso cake, so I’m going cheat and say it’s a tie.

Call or Text

Call. While texting can be more convenient as you can respond whenever you’re able or have a very quick converstation, there’s nothing like hearing someone’s voice over the phone.

Coke or Pepsi

Definitely Coke. We grew up in my family calling it soda pop. All soda pop was Coke, and it still is to this day for me at least.

Dogs or Cats

Definitely dogs. I grew up with dogs, and my family and I have always had dogs with the exception of eighteen months while we were renting in between moves. We currently have a 165 pound Newfie, who’s just about two. He literally looks like a bear cub, and has startled  more than his fair share of hikers when they see him round a bend. At heart, he’s as sweet, cuddable ball of fluff who loves rides in the car, especially to Starbucks for his puppichino.

Eggs or Pancakes

Pancakes. Particularly chocolate-chip with syrup. I have the best memories of making them with my girls while they were growing up. It was our Saturday morning treat, and occasionally a breakfast-for-dinner one too.

Facebook or Twitter

Facebook. I find I have way more interaction and engagement with friends and readers alike on Facebook. And, I’m too verbose to be limited to 120 characters. LOL!

First person or Third person

I like both, but I write in third person. It’s just how my voice seems to work.

Instagram or Pinterest

Oooh. Tough choice. For a quick peek at things, I go to Instagram, but for some more-involved creative play, I’m going to go with Pinterest. I just have to pay attention to time or I can get lost on there.

Marvel or DC

Man, you are the queen of tough questions. While I do love Henry Cavill as Superman and Jason Momoa as Aquaman, I’m going to have to go with Marvel as my overall favorite. You just can’t beat Captain America or Chris Evans. He’s America’s sweetheart.

Paperback or EBook

Definitely paperback. There’s just something extremely comforting and soothing when holding a paperback or hardcover book in hand. The smell of the pages, the ability to bend down corners (I know many readers are probably aghast at that, but I do it all the time to remember parts I loved), and the beauty of seeing a well-worn favorite lining my bookshelves.

Summer or Winter

Summer. I’m a beach girl all the way! While I love the beauty of seeing a fresh snowfall, the cold and I don’t get along.

Sweet or Spicy

If sweet includes chocolate, then sweet all the way. However, I love spicy Mexican and Chinese food.

Tattoos or Piercings

Tattoos. I have four and my husband…he has too many to count.

Tea or Coffee

Ah, Rel, you know me—coffee all the way. The stronger the better, and with nothing in it unless it’s iced then add in some mocha and espresso and you’ve got perfection.

Thornton or Darcy

Darcy. Pride and Prejudice is my favorite book. A number of years back my husband got me a first edition, and an autographed picture of Colin Firth as Darcy. He’s never been able to top that gift.

Yoga Pants or Jeans

Yoga pants around the house. Soft, worn-in jeans out and about. I’m a pretty casual girl. My favoirte outfit is shorts, a tank top and Sanuk flip-flops. So thankful summer is here!

Zoo or Aquarium

Another tough one and here I thought they were getting easier 🙂 It’s a tough choice as I love the ocean over mountains or land, but I love the zoo over the aquarium.

Thanks Dani!
