Instagram & Me!

Insta bio 5

Hey reading friends,

As you can guess, I’ve been a little bit lax in getting posts up regularly these past weeks. A combination of busyness, work, family, and the loss of a dear friend and my oldest friend’s mother, both to cancer. Life is tough, isn’t it? I love that reading brings me joy and light, even in the darkest times, as does blogging when I can make the time. Hopefully, things will be back on track next week!

In the meantime, a quick post about Instagram. At the nudging of my fabulous author friend, Dorothy, I joined Instagram a while back and now 633 photos later, I adore it as a place to connect with other readers, authors, and book bloggers. There’s a fun bookish community there and I’d love for you to join in the fun! Follow me and we can have more bookish fun. And there’s always Sherlock pics to love 🙂 Some very talented Instagrammers have gorgeously themed photos – be sure to check out @RissiJC and @createexploreread as just two examples. Lori Benton is equally talented with a camera as with a pen and I adore her Oregon photos. A lot of your favourite authors are Instagrammers and you can follow them, too. Authors like Tamara Leigh, Ronie Kendig, Susan May Warren, Amy Matayo, Dorothy Adamek, and many more.

As for me, I post an eclectic mix of books, blog, Sherlock, and the occasional family and scenery shots. I highlight some older reads that I’ve loved for a bit of nostalgia and to see who else has read them. And I love posting bookish mail I receive! Here’s a peek…

    Hi Rel,
I love seeing all your post on Instagram! When you post photos of the areas around you I really want to get on a plane and visit! It all looks so beautiful.
I totally agree with you about Lori Benton’s photos. She has a beautiful way of capturing our state in just the right way. I’ve been to many of the places she photographs and they really are that beautiful!
I’m sorry to hear of your times of loss. Take care and draw your strength from the one who is always there for us. God Bless dear lady!

  2. Thank you so much for the IG shoutout Rel! I pray the Lord’s comfort for you through this season [[[hugs]]] ~ Lori

  4. Hi, dear Rel! You’re one of the best reasons I finally joined Instagram–and then there was the prodding from Skyler. I didn’t expect to enjoy it as I do Facebook, but I’m hooked on the reader and author interaction there. Such fun! Thank you!

  5. I’m pretty new to Instagram too. I love the simplicity and absence of politics.

  6. I love Instagram! But that’s probably because of the generation I’m in 😉 @mmehresman

  7. I’m another late convert to Instagram, but I love it. All the pretty pictures!

  8. So sorry about your losses.
I love seeing your Instagram posts!
