Set In Stone by David James Warren

Synopsis:~

Trapped in time, he’ll have to use the past to fix the present.

Thirty-eight women. Dead. All the in the past. All because Detective Rembrandt Stone played with fate, and somewhere in time unleashed a serial killer. He can’t undo their deaths, not anymore, but the serial killer is still at large, twenty-four years later, and now it’s personal. Especially when the evidence points to the last person on anyone’s radar: Rembrandt himself.
Now he’ll have to use the clues from his pasts to track down the killer in the present.

But the killer is onto him and puts the one person Rembrandt loves in his cross hairs. Now, Rembrandt must outwit time to save the people he loves.

Because time is playing for keeps.

The fourth installment of the True Lies of Rembrandt Stone will have you holding your breath and leave you gasping for more.

Necee’s take:~

“I am a time traveler. It almost gives me relief to admit this, because the alternatives are dark and probably involve a long-term placement in a psychiatric clinic.”

Once again, Rembrandt Stone takes us on a journey to correct the past, but this time his wife is stuck in a serial killer’s sights! Another riveting read that kept me on the edge of my seat, I absolutely love the writing of this dynamic trio of David James Warren. I can’t wait to see where they take us next.

“What’s your problem, Rem? Why do you always have to change things? I’d like to remind you that I’m a guy. We fix things. And a detective. We solve things. And deep down inside, I’m also still a writer. (I don’t know if that urge ever leaves.) And writers like to analyze things, pick them apart, find the deeper layers.”

There are so many layers to this mystery, that I  am continuing to change my mind about what’s going to happen next. I’m loving every minute of it! If you want a great crime mystery with a romance that packs a punch, you’ll love Set in Stone and the whole Rembrandt Stone series!

“Booker is in my head. Here are the rules. The biggest one, the one that is never, ever to be broken…Don’t change the past. Whatever.”

Run. Don’t walk to catch this series. It’s unique writing will catch you from the first book and have you begging for a happy ending again and again! I can’t wait for the next book in The True Lies of Rembrandt Stone series. Be sure to start with the first book, Cast The First Stone. You won’t be disappointed!

I was given a copy of this book by the publisher. All opinions are my own and have been given honestly.
