You all well know my love for Tamara Leigh‘sΒ brilliant medieval stories – her Age of Faith series, a time travel romance, and the latest rewrites of her original novels. You can now have the pleasure of not only reading these fabulous stories but listening to them as well.
Previously, the only audio book I have listened to was John Cleese’s narration of C.S. Lewis’ The Screwtape Letters – a brilliant rendition, I might add – and Ronie Kendig‘s Raptor 6, which is also fabulous. Now, I’m hooked on listening to Tamara’s books and despite having already read and loved these stories, listening to them adds a whole new dimension to these beloved novels. I listen to them in the car, as I walk, and recently as I did a big grocery shop!! Lots of fun π
So, here are the ones Tamara currently has available for your listening pleasure…
The Yielding
The Unveiling, the first book in the Age of Faith series, introduced listeners to the formidable Wulfrith family during Duke Henry’s battle for England’s throne in 1153. Now, four years later, Henry wears the crown, but the Wulfriths are no less defiant – and no more amenable to forging alliances through king-decreed marriage.
She had killed a man. Or so it was said….
Convent-bound Lady Beatrix Wulfrith is determined to aid her sister in escaping marriage to their family’s enemy. Unaware of the sacrifice that awaits her, she leads their pursuers astray only to meet with an accident that forever alters her destiny and takes the life of a young knight whose brother vows he will not rest until the lady is brought to justice.
Lord Michael D’Arci is a warrior and a womanizer whose foul mouth and impatience bode ill for all who trespass against him. Falsely accused of ravishment years earlier, he refuses to believe Lady Beatrix’s accusations against his deceased brother. However, when he finds himself at the mercy of that same woman who clings to her convictions and faith even when it threatens to prove her undoing, his quest for justice wavers.

The Unveiling
Twelfth century England: Two men vie for the throne: King Stephen the usurper and young Duke Henry the rightful heir. Amid civil and private wars, alliances are forged, loyalties are betrayed, families are divided, and marriages are made.
For four years, Lady Annyn Bretanne has trained at arms with one end in mind – to avenge her brother’s murder as God has not deemed it worthy to do. Disguised as a squire, she sets off to exact revenge on a man known only by his surname, Wulfrith. But when she holds his fate in her hands, her will wavers and her heart whispers that her enemy may not be an enemy after all.
Baron Wulfrith, renowned trainer of knights, allows no women within his walls for the distraction they breed. What he never expects is that the impetuous young man sent to train under him is a woman who seeks his death – nor that her unveiling will test his faith and distract the warrior from his purpose.

Dreamspell
A time to live. A time to die. A time to dream.
Sleep disorders specialist Kennedy Plain has been diagnosed with a fatal brain tumor. When her research subject dies after trying to convince her he has achieved dream-induced time travel and her study is shelved, she enlists herself as a subject to complete her research.
But when she dreams herself into 14th-century England and falls into the hands of Fulke Wynland, a man history has condemned as a murderer, she must not only stay alive long enough to find a way to return to her own time, but prevent Fulke from murdering his young nephews. And yet, the more time she spends with the medieval warrior, the more difficult it is to believe he is capable of committing the heinous crime for which he has been reviled for 600 years.
Baron Fulke Wynland has been granted guardianship of his brother’s heirs despite suspicions that he seeks to steal their inheritance. When the king sends a mysterious woman to care for the boys, Fulke is surprised by the lady’s hostility toward him – and more surprised to learn she is to be his wife. But when his nephews are abducted, the two must overcome their mutual dislike to discover the boys’ fate.
What Fulke never expects is to feel for this woman whose peculiar speech, behavior, and talk of dream travel could see her burned as a witch.

Lady at Arms
He was the vilest of men.
Lizanne Balmaine has spent years honing her skills at arms, determined she will never again be at the mercy of any man. When she comes face to face with the one who stole her future, she seizes the opportunity to exact revenge. Soon he is her prisoner, at her mercy. But something is different about him, something that makes her question her purpose. Is it possible a man can be so changed? More, can she right the wrong that could lay ruin to her family?
She was a question never before asked of him.
Ranulf Wardieu does not seek a bride, nor a settling of scores when his mission for the king places him in the path of a beguiling, raven-haired maiden. But fascination turns to fury when she imprisons him. Accused of wrongdoing, the nature of which she refuses to reveal, he discovers the lady is as skilled at wielding a sword as she is at verbal sparring. When he bests her at her game and his jailer becomes his captive, he is determined to learn what wrong he has done her. However, as they engage in a battle of wits and wills and he glimpses her woman’s heart, he discovers Lizanne is a question never before asked of him – one his own jaded heart refuses to answer.

Hello?
Umm, yeah, WANT.
I think I’ve read The Unveiling a FEW times. And frankly I’m scared to plug my headphones in my ears in a public setting because I’d yell “YES GARR BABY!”.
You know, I think you might just do that, Jennifer π You crazy fun woman, you!
Yeah, in the van while hubs is driving. And I’ve got the head bobbing to fake that I’m listening to music on my iPod. I would be SO busted!
I’m thinking you might want to try your hand at humorous fiction, Jennifer π
have you been talking to Mrs Frantz???
I have not been talking to Laura Frantz, Jennifer. You just seem to have a voice for it. Sounds like a bit of a consensus, hmm?

I haven’t listened to audio book yet, but it would be in my car driving to and from work.

When I’m working out.
Me, too!
I listen when I sit outside on my patio.

I usually listen to audio books when I’m going to bed. I also listen to them while cooking, cleaning, ironing, etc. though — makes the time go by faster. π

I listen to books in the car, while working on a craft projects or sewing.
Thank you for coming by, Merry! Wishing you a lovely week ahead.
I get more reading done by listening to audiobooks while I’m cleaning, cooking, taking a walk, etc. I’ve also been enjoying doing “immersion” reading on my Kindle, where it reads the audiobook while highlighting the text as you read along. I’ve been rereading many of my favorite Classics that way. And I love Tamara Leigh’s books, so I know it’ll be a treat to listen to them!
I haven’t yet tried “immersion” reading, but I really must. Thank you for your kind words, Lisa! Have a lovely day.
I listen while I am driving. Thank you for this giveaway
