Synopsis:~
It’s been quite the year for the Hayes/Gamble family, but now things are looking up. When you’ve survived a tornado, a concert shooting, and being stranded on a deserted island, what else can possibly go wrong? After all, isn’t that the rule—three strikes, and you’re out?
That should totally be the rule.
Dillon Hayes has dreamed of her wedding day since childhood. Now, after months of planning, the chapel is booked, the invitations are sent, and the dress is ready and waiting. In only a few days’ time, Dillon will become Mrs. Liam Gamble in front of God, Tennessee, and everyone she loves.
But when a rare blizzard dumps piles of snow on Nashville and the entire southern region three days before the wedding, all that planning goes up in, well…snow. Businesses close. Flights are grounded. Roads are nearly impassible. Even the chapel now has a gaping hole in the middle of the roof and a giant mound of white powder blocking the aisle.
Dillon can feel her dreams dying one by one…and there’s nothing she can do to stop it. A year filled with one mishap after another can wear a person down. But what Dillon soon discovers is this: the death of one dream isn’t necessarily the end.
Sometimes it can lead to an even better beginning.
Necee’s take:~
“I now pronounce you man and wife, the best words ever spoken.”
Oh, how I have loved this series so much. Just when I thought it was over, Matayo surprised me with releasing The Reunion, and what a reunion it was. As with the other books in the series, there seems to be chaos that follows this family, even to the altar. This time it’s a snowstorm. This is a must read for anyone who loves a happy ending, and especially if you’ve read the rest of the series. If you haven’t, start with The Waves. Liam‘s heart for Dillon really shines as he makes sure everything comes together for the wedding. Glimpses into all the couples from the series made for much humor. I think my favorite part of the book is the bride and her dad‘s moment. It was truly heartwarming and inspirational. This is a great story for seeing that even when life throws you a curve, you can still have a happy ending.
I was provided a complimentary copy of this book by the publisher. All opinions in this review are given honestly.
My take:~
The Reunion completes Amy Matayo’s excellent Love in Chaos series, perfectly pitched for lovers of contemporary romance with a side of angst, sass, and smarts. As the title foretells, the leading couples from each of the previous books are attempting to make their way through an unexpected blizzard to be reunited for the nuptials of Liam and Dillon from The Waves. Despite the novella length, Matayo packs plenty of adventure, romance, drama, and banter in this story, wrapping up our time with these fabulous couples with tenderness and fun. You would do well to prioritise adding the complete series to your collection!
With thanks to the author for my review copy. I provide Author Support Services to Amy Matayo. My opinions remain my own.
Amy Matayo is an excellent speaker, mathematician, seamstress, chef…and liar. She’s decent at writing books but not much else. Then again, the book thing makes her marginally cool and a whole lot intimidating.
Not really. Not even her kids are afraid of her.
She graduated with barely passing grades from John Brown University with a degree in Journalism. But she’s proud of that degree and all the ways she hasn’t put it to good use.
She laughs often, cries easily, feels deeply, and loves hard. She lives in Arkansas with her husband and four kids and is working on her next novel.
