The Watcher by Sara Davison

Synopsis:~

Someone or something is watching Kathryn Ellison.

Kathryn thought she had buried memories of That Night for good—until Nick Lawson returns, reigniting her long-suppressed feelings for him. Seeing Nick has always reminded her too much of the horrible night that changed her life. As much as she wants to be with him, she wants even more to forget. When Nick unexpectedly shows up at her family ranch, Kathryn knows it is finally time to let go of the traumatic past that has held her captive for so long.

David Henley is a captive too—of the dark secret involving Kathryn, a secret he’s kept even from his wife. Now the truth is about to be revealed. And when it is, he could be stripped of everything in his life that matters to him.

A storm is brewing in the spiritual realm, and its effects reverberate through the natural world, summoning otherworldly Beings to the ranch. While Kathryn confronts the memories of That Night and struggles to let them go, she is not as alone in her home as she thinks.

As spiritual and temporal forces collide, Kathryn—and everyone she loves—is about to be caught in the crossfire.

Necee’s take:~

Hope. Despair.
Love. Fear.
Faith. Discouragement.
Determination. Grace.

What would you do for love?

This book will challenge your view of love, grace, and forgiveness. The Watcher is a rerelease that has been updated and it is outstanding! This speculative, romantic suspense will keep you up late into the night. It’s such a fascinating read…a look into the real and the supernatural world that is in a constant battle for our souls. It is thoughtfully laid out in a way that deepens your spiritual awareness and shows the  importance of grace.

“Nick hadn’t even been sure he believed in the concept of soul mates or the one before the day he met her.”

Nick’s heart for Kathryn was beautiful, inspiring and utterly romantic. Kathryn had a heart for God since she was young, but after enduring a life-changing event, her faith has been challenged. They must overcome much to find there lives intertwined. This was a story that was totally unexpected and I’ll admit hard hitting from the start. The fight for a happy ending and turning even the worst into the blessings God can bring from it, was both inspiring and enlightening.

“Where sin abounded, grace increased.”

Honestly, I don’t want to say too much about this book as I think you have to feel it and experience it to gain the full impact. It was gripping and engaging, as well as deeply enthralling in seeing what is happening behind the scenes. I felt like my heart stopped many times…even to the point of wanting to put the book down, but Kathryn’s story wrapped around me in a way I just had to know the ending. Though I don’t want to give away the storyline, I will say it dealt with adult themed issues that will challenge even those with deep faith. Though the subject matter was difficult, Davison handled it extremely well. Having said that, it could be a difficult read for young or sensitive readers.

I highly recommend this book for anyone looking for something a little deeper, a little different, and a little allegorical that could even cause a little change in how you might view the world around you. I loved the spiritual insight surrounding this book. It is deep and heart-gripping.

I was given a copy of this book by the publisher. All opinions are my own and given honestly.
