Top Ten Tuesday Turns 10! It’s a Celebration!

Congratulations to Top Ten Tuesday’s Tenth Year Anniversary!

TTT began June 2010 by The Broke and the Bookish and continues to inspire by That Artsy Reader Girl since January 2018. “It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.” It has truly been an inspiration to our book loving community.

To celebrate “Top Ten Tuesday Turns 10” this week, I decided to pair it with the first day of summer since the Northern Hemisphere celebrated the Summer Solstice this past weekend. In Southcentral Alaska, we had our longest day on Saturday of 2020 with a Sunrise at 4:15 A.M. and Sunset at 11:45 P.M. However, it never really was dark, just twilight at about 2 A.M. So, I thought I’d shine light on the first official day of Summer with the latest from my summer reading pile.

1. Don’t Keep Silent by Elizabeth Goddard I know, I know, why am I reading a wintry novel during summer? The story line is inspiring and gripping…it’s the third book in her Uncommon Justice Series and is by far the best of the series. It’s action-packed with a great mystery and riveting story. It was a great way to spend my solstice after we chased the sunset into the wee late night.

2. Sea Glass Castle by T.I. Lowe releases in August and the cover is beautiful. It’s a great time to catch up on the rest of the series and it’s really engaging small town friendships. Ocean breezes are calling my name. Poignant story lines with a touch of humor will have you hooked.

3. The Truth About Fame by Toni Shiloh releases in July and is the 2nd book in the Faith and Fortune series. June is a great time to catch up on this best friend series. This latest has references to “The Bodyguard” movie that will have you grabbing the remote. The book is a beautiful, romantic mystery with sass and a swoony bodyguard.

4. The Crushing Depths by Dani Pettrey is the 2nd book from her Coast Guard Rescue series. The action and suspense was engaging. The main couple, Mason and Ricci stole the show with their heart-wrenching past that turns into more as coworkers. Her first book, The Killing Tide, was just recommended for a Christy Award.

5. Start With Me by Kara Isaac is a long-awaited read for me. I love everything she has written and am truly excited to drop everything when it releases!

6. Airborne by DiAnne Mills I’m excited to read. She always has riveting story lines and I know this one will be great. I was a little nervous to read it with current events, but I’ve heard great things. So, it’s at the top of my list now.

7. Under The Scottish Stars by Carla Laureano was a riveting read and made me feel like I was on vacation in Scotland. A beautifully written story with gorgeous scenery, Scotland just moved to the top of my must be visited list.”

8. Set The Stars Alight by Amanda Dykes is a new author to me. That cover is beautiful and intriguing. The story line drew me in, so it’s high on my list to read.

9. A Dazzle of Diamonds by Liz Johnson had me gripped from the first page and I’m looking forward to the rest of this split time story. The second book of this Georgia Coast Romance series, A Glitter of Gold, was just nominated for a Christy Award.

10. Once Upon An Irish Summer by Lisa T. Bergren is another book that has me wanting to jump on a plane for a summer vacation. Beautifully written and inspiring, I loved the romance and summer travel of this story.

  1. What a beautiful list! I’ve read Once Upon an Irish Summer, and absolutely want to go visit Ireland right now. I hope to read some of the rest in the near future! Thanks for sharing!
We also are enjoying long summer days here in central Ohio. Not like Alaska, but much longer than other times…the sky gets light soon after 5, and then it doesn’t get really dark outside until after 10. I love it, but I’m always glad when it starts going the other way again! 🙂
    Happy Tuesday!

  2. Wow, you get a lot of summer sunlight in Alaska. That’s amazing.
