Bookish Question of the Week

rp_Quoftheweek1-300x30011-300x3001.pngIt’s an easy question this week! It’s summer soon for my Northern Hemisphere readers and I don’t know about you, but summer always means a little more reading time. There’s nothing better than sitting on the beach, listening to the waves, soaking up the sun, and having a book in hand. I’m willing to live vicariously, friends.

So, my simple question is this:

What books are on your reading list for Summer? Or Winter, as the case may be for my fellow antipodeans!

  1. My 2 book clubs have some good book discussions planned for the coming months. On my list are The Memory of Violets by Hazel Gaynor, Secrets of A Charmed Life by Susan Meissner, Waiting for Sunrise by Eva Marie Everson, and Thief of Glory by Sigmund Brouwer.

  2. My summer started at the beginning of this month, so I’m about halfway through my fifth book of the summer! Ended Lizzy & Jane and after a bit of debate. picked up The Wishing Season, by Denise Hunter. And my reading plans always change, since I own 80 that have yet to be read…and it keeps growing! But I think the next book will be The Choosing by Rachelle Dekker, which hopefully is in the mail by now! I think I’ll read Laura Frantz’s Love’s Awakening and Love’s Fortune, since I finished Love’s Reckoning just last week. I needed a break before continuing the series, since it was an emotional roller coaster! Wonderful, but definitely a heavier read {at least that’s what I thought}. Maybe I’ll get to Jody Hedlund’s Love Unexpected, Dani Pettrey’s Sabotaged, Lisa T. Bergren’s Remnants, Sandra Byrd’s To Die For…the list goes on. So basically, I have no idea what I’ll end up reading!

    • Hey Marie – well, you do have a great summer reading list going on there ๐Ÿ™‚ I recommend them all, although I haven’t read Rachelle’s yet. It’s on my list, too!

  3. Oh my word, my list is huge.

    The Wood’s Edge
    The Art of Losing Yourself
    Trial by Twelve
    Falcon
    Waking Beauty
    Mists at Midnight
    Mother of Pearl
Christina Coryell’s first book (I forget the title, but I’m hearing great things about her)
    The Thornbearer
Jessica Dotta’s Price of Privilege series (already read book one but gonna read the entire thing all in one sitting. I hope)

    Come on, summer!

    • Great list, Sally – I’ve got many of those on mine, too ๐Ÿ™‚ You are very much like me with an eclectic range of genres and authors. Love it!

  4. It’s a long list!
    The Wood’s Edge
    Married ’til Monday
    From the Start
    Reservations for Two
    Thief of Glory
    London Tides
    Together With You
    Maggie Bright
    The Wonder of You
    Crazy Little Thing Called Love
    Not By Sight

    And I’m sure I’ve missed a few!!

  7. Right now I’m reading Lorna Seilstad’s As Love Blooms.

After that the top books on my TBR pile include:
As Waters Gone By by Cynthia Ruchti
Water from My Heart by Charles Martin
Gone Without a Trace by Patricia Bradley

    Drawing Fire by Janice Cantore.

That should get me through June anyway. ๐Ÿ™‚

  8. I have quite a few books on my summer reading list. Yes, the list is long, but that doesn’t mean I intend to read all of the books — these are just some of my options. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Quiet Professionals series ~ Ronie Kendig (I’ve already started book 1.)
    Sabotaged ~ Dani Pettrey
From the Start ~ Melissa Tagg
A Baby Between Them ~ Winnie Griggs
The Inn at Ocean’s Edge ~ Colleen Coble
Betting on Hope ~ Debra Clopton
    Buried Secrets ~ Irene Hannon
The Last Heiress ~ Mary Ellis
A Lady of Esteem ~ Kristi Ann Hunter
    Diagnosis Death ~ Richard Mabry
    Lady Maybe ~ Julie Klassen
In Good Company ~ Jen Turano
A Worthy Pursuit ~ Karen Witemeyer

And this isn’t even all of them! ๐Ÿ˜‰

    • Oh, you are a lucky girl to have three novels of Ronie’s to read. I think you won’t want to stop now you have started ๐Ÿ™‚ A nice mix of genres, too. Enjoy

  9. On my back porch I’ll be “Reading & Rocking” –
Currently reading – Chasing the Lion – Nancy Kimball
Lady of Conquest – Tamara Leigh (releasing 6/4/15)
Water from My Heart – Charles Martin
To Win Her Favor – Tamara Alexander
Somebody Like You – Beth Vogt
The Pharaoh’s Daughter – Mesu Andrews

    • Tamara’s is FANTASTIC! Loved Tamera’s To Win Her Favor and I adore Charles Martin’s writing. Have a great reading fest on your back porch, Pam ๐Ÿ™‚

  10. I’ve got quite a stack but my first focus is Special Education Law by Wrights Law. I’m halfway through and when I finished I plan to go back through with a highlighter and sticky-flags. I’m busying armoring myself for some meetings when school starts in the fall. I’m also halfway through Trim Healthy Mama – sounds like a lifestyle I should shift my family toward. And then I’ll finally have time for fun reading – I’ve got the last two Melanie Dickerson’s so catch up on, as well as the last two Lesley Livingston’s and Perfect Glass by Laura Anderson Kurk. Of course, I’ve got a mountain more but those are all the highest on the list. ๐Ÿ˜‰

  11. These are a few titles from the top of my list…

Lady of Conquest by Tamara Leigh
A Worthy Pursuit by Karen Witemeyer
Married til Monday by Denise Hunter
One Last Thing by Rebecca St. James
Together With You by Victoria Bylin
