Bookish Question of the Week

BookishQu250Here’s a fun question for you all! I’ve never been one to celebrate anniversaries on my blog – or blogiverseries as they are called – but when September rolls around this year, Relz Reviewz will be 10 years old! I can hardly believe it. A decade connecting readers to books and authors – it blows my mind, really.

Despite my usual non-existent approach to these things, I do think ten years of blogging is worth celebrating, don’t you? And given that this blog is about readers and authors, I’d really love your ideas on what YOU would like to be part of the celebrations. I’m thinking some giveaways will be in order, interviews with some really special authors who have been pivotal in some way to the success of Relz Reviewz, and….well, you will just have to tell me!

What will bless you, dear readers, that will help celebrate a decade of book blogging here at Relz Reviewz? All ideas welcome! Feel free to comment below or reach me via my contact page.

  1. Congratulations, Rel! I always look forward to reading your new posts on your blog. Also, I still consult your character spotlight posts from time to time if I’m reading an older CBA book for the first time.

Celebration ideas? It sounds like you have everything covered already. Those ideas sound good.

  2. Congratulations on almost ten years of blogging. Aren’t there some food items unique to your area? I’d suggest serving a few and letting some of the authors who’ve appeared on your blog comment on them. (I’ll leave the porch light on, and if we’re not home, you can just leave the package inside the screen door).
Seriously, we appreciate you and what you do.

  3. Ten years, Rel? Congratulations! What a commitment you made–and kept!–all those years ago. Thank you so much for all you’ve done, not just for me as a writer but for me as a reader. I’ve found so many good books and authors through your words here.

    • Love hearing that you have found new books and authors to read, Sally. It’s the very reason I’ve been doing this for almost 10 years. Hard to believe!

  4. I just want to celebrate that you’re showcasing indie authors these days! It’s such a huge blessing to us, Rel! And thanks for all you do for the CBA community. I don’t have any brilliant celebration ideas–I usually forget to celebrate things! LOL.

  5. Congratulations on Relz Reviews turning 10 years old in September! This is a wonderful place for both readers and authors. How about some video clips? A little behind the scenes intel? Or maybe take us on a how this all started and where you are now jaunt down memory lane?

  6. Can I take you out for dinner? Or high tea? (See, following Richard’s theme here!) I just can’t beieve it’s that long. Congratulations on doing what you do so well, for honouring the creative work of amazing people, for the high class, high quality work you do on all fronts. Who would have thought a love of reading would take you here?!
    ❤️❤️👏

  7. Congratulations. I love this blog.

  8. Congratulations to our beautiful, caring and talented girl You are truly gifted and we give thanks for you and your God given giftedness. 🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹

  9. Wow! Congratulations!!!!! 10 YEARS!!! We NEED to celebrate! Tea and books. Will need to think about how to celebrate. Must do something!!

  10. HOOAH!!! So proud of you and excited for you, friend!! TEN YEARS!! I think you need a paramilitary team to deliver you safely to Northern Virginia for a month-long visit with me, then we can traipse around the U.S., visiting other authors and sites and laughing and . . . yeah. <3

  11. Rel, Happy big 10! I’m really fortunate to have come into the industry after you. I’ll never forget when you reached out to this newbie after taking time for my debut. I believe that was my very first interview. You made me feel so honored & blessed. It’s been a thrill watching your widening outreach & impact. I’m a huge fan. But you already know that. Here’s to another beautiful bookish decade! xoxox

    • Lovely Laura – you are the best! Thank you for your generous words. I remember your exact response when you accepted my request to be on the blog. YOU encouraged me enormously – I’ll never forget it xo

  12. Wow, Rel! A decade of the blessing of your heart and words– what a joy to anticipate! Can’t wait to celebrate the anniversary, and celebrate you each day in between! 🙂

  13. Hi Rel congrats. wow 10 years. It was you who got me into blogging. I like Beths idea about a Jaunt down memory lane with memories from each of the years.

  14. Congratulations! I like the ideas you mentioned, plus the video clips. Perhaps one clip could be you talking with us. You could maybe also do a top 10 (20, 50?)list of the books you’ve reviewed in those 10 years, though that would probably be a tough assignment and rather time consuming. It would be interesting though.

  15. Congratulations Rel!! The Big 1.0.!!!! I think you should give us your Aussy address and let us yanks bombard you with “Congrats” cards from the states . . . . let the postman start a rumor that you’re moving . . . . it’s a thought!!! LOL

  16. Terrill Rosado

I have only been following your blog for about a year or a little more. During that time I have surmised that your blog stands out above the rest when it comes to “reader blogs.” My favorite book finds in the past year after having first discovered them here on your blog are Rachel MacMillan’s, The Bachelor Girl’s Guide to Murder; Dorothy Adamek’s, Carry Me Home; and Kara Isaac’s, Close to You. Thank you, Rel!

As far as a fun idea for your blogiversary – you could retrieve a first or early author interviews/book release featured on your blog and post it with a new or most current one to honor the works of the author then and now. You could even make it a giveaway of one of their older books with their most recent release. The giveaway wouldn’t be necessary, but just a thought.

  17. I was privileged to be one of the authors you reviewed in your first year. And, you did a character spotlight on my most recent release this year. July will be my ten year anniversary as well. Congratulations, Rel! I absolutely love all the new authors you have introduced me to, especially indie authors. Here’s to another ten years of reading and reflecting on amazing fiction!

  18. Ah yes Rel — I do appreciate your nod towards the indie writers. There is a wealth of quality authors and books coming out of indie! Thank you for including information in your blogs concerning them.
