  1. I’ve read True to You, The Lacemaker, Life After, and am reading The Man He Never Was. I also read Many Sparrows, The Secret Life of Sarah Hollenbeck, and To Wager Her Heart. The winners were top notch and you know I’ve been partial to Laura Frantz since her debut novel. I’m pumped that she finally got the recognition she deserves. Certainly the award gives some credibilty to the other nominees and winners but it doesn’t have a huge bearing on whether I’ll read any of them. Some genres just don’t appeal to me. But I am going to look at The House on Foster Hill. I’m more likely to read a book based on your recommendation/review, Amazon reviews, etc. By the way, I was very impressed with remarks made by Charles Martin. He’s an excellent writer and speaker.

  2. What a joy it is to follow the Christy Awards. I usually find at least one new to me author. Of the winners, I’ve read True to You, Missing Isaac, Life After, Isaiah’s Daughter, The House on Foster Hill and The Man He Never Was. I’m currently reading The Lacemaker.

I read all the nominees for some of the categories and choose my own favorite. Always fun to see if my favorite and that of the judges match. This year I read all the nominees for five categories.

  3. Congratulations to the Christy Award Winners! I’ve read a few of these.

  4. I’ve read several of these and have some of the others in my TBR pile. I’m always excited to see some of my favorite authors and books win Christy awards. It sometimes influences me to read a book if it has won an award, but mostly I go by recommendations of others with similar tastes as mine or books by authors I’ve enjoyed in the past.

Congratulations to all the Christy winners and nominees! What a great bunch of books and authors!

  5. I’ve read “The Secret Life of Sarah Hollenbeck” – and already had several of theses on my TBR Kindle. I would say a book being nominated or winning an award will influence me to pull it up and read the reviews – and then I may download a sample – and then based on the sample will be the ultimate decision in buying. But also your blog Rel makes a difference in my “leaning” – so keep up the good work, Rel. This year has been challenging and busy – thank you Rel for being a filter and pre-reader for us. Have a great Thanksgiving and Christmas – – may the coming holidays be a great blessing for you and your family!
