Cover Reveal: Coming in late 2018 from Tyndale House

Tyndale late 2018

Tyndale House releases fewer fiction novels than some of the other publishers, but you can always be assured of  quality cover design and excellent storytelling. These covers are all quite traditional in style for their genres, so nothing particularly stands out for me as something new and adventurous.

Melanie’s cover communicates the story line well and I like the way the model is peeking out behind the curtain, which reflects the title well, too.

All these stories sound excellent, and Francine’s Biblical Fiction novella collection is excellent, having read them when they were first published! Which novels stand out to you?

Hidden Among the Stars

Hidden Among the Stars by Melanie Dobson

From the award-winning author of Catching the Wind, which Publishers Weekly called “unforgettable” and a “must-read,” comes another gripping time-slip novel about hidden treasure, a castle, and ordinary people who resisted evil in their own extraordinary way.

The year is 1938, and as Hitler’s troops sweep into Vienna, Austrian Max Dornbach promises to help his Jewish friends hide their most valuable possessions from the Nazis, smuggling them to his family’s summer estate near the picturesque village of Hallstatt. He enlists the help of Annika Knopf, his childhood friend and the caretaker’s daughter, who is eager to help the man she’s loved her entire life. But when Max also brings Luzia Weiss, a young Jewish woman, to hide at the castle, it complicates Annika’s feelings and puts their entire plan—even their very lives—in jeopardy. Especially when the Nazis come to scour the estate and find both Luzia and the treasure gone.

Eighty years later, Callie Randall is mostly content with her quiet life, running a bookstore with her sister and reaching out into the world through her blog. Then she finds a cryptic list in an old edition of Bambi that connects her to Annika’s story . . . and maybe to the long-buried story of a dear friend. As she digs into the past, Callie must risk venturing outside the safe world she’s built for a chance at answers, adventure, and maybe even new love.

Lady of a Thousand Treasures

Lady of a Thousand Treasures by Sandra Byrd

Victorian England 1865

Miss Eleanor Sheffield is a talented evaluator of antiquities, trained to know the difference between a genuine artifact and a fraud. But with her father’s passing and her uncle’s decline into dementia, the family business is at risk. In the Victorian era, unmarried Eleanor cannot run Sheffield Brothers alone.

The death of a longtime client, Baron Lydney, offers an unexpected complication when Eleanor is appointed the temporary trustee of the baron’s legendary collection. She must choose whether to donate the priceless treasures to a museum or allow them to pass to the baron’s only living son, Harry—the man who broke Eleanor’s heart.

Eleanor distrusts the baron’s motives and her own ability to be unbiased regarding Harry’s future. Harry claims to still love her and Eleanor yearns to believe him, but his mysterious comments and actions fuel her doubts. When she learns an Italian beauty accompanied him on his return to England, her lingering hope for a future with Harry dims.

With the threat of debtor’s prison closing in, Eleanor knows that donating the baron’s collection would win her favor among potential clients, saving Sheffield Brothers. But the more time she spends with Harry, the more her faith in him grows. Might Harry be worthy of his inheritance, and her heart, after all? As pressures mount and time runs out, Eleanor must decide whom she can trust—who in her life is false or true, brass or gold—and what is meant to be treasured.

  1. Such beautiful covers and intriguing stories! Thanks, Rel, for sharing. I always love these posts.

  2. Even with all the lovely ladies presented I actually like Francine Rivers cover the best. Looking forward to reading all of them though. Thanks for the sneak peek, Rel.

  3. I LOVE Diann’s cover, though it’s pretty similar to Lynette’s new style. But I love it because that woman’s expression evokes SO MUCH when I look at it. Francine’s cover kind of surprised me–it’s a very trendy style, but I’ve seen it more on YA novels than adult. And I really like Sandra Byrd’s–those tones are lovely. And I like Janice’s because it fits her style and genre.

  4. Hey Rel,
I agree with you overall about these covers. None are really standing out to me either. My favorite is Melanie Dobson’s cover. It evokes the time-slip plot very well. The book I look forward to reading the most is the historical one by Sandra Byrd. Overall I like the cover, but the whole look is a bit dark to me. It reminds me somewhat of the look of the British TV show, Victoria. But maybe that is what the cover is intended to evoke since it is set in the Victorian period. The suspense covers are ok, but I am not a fan of the letters blending into the edges on Diann Mills’ cover, and Janice Cantore’s has a great concept, but looks a bit too photo-shopped to me. While I would not ordinarily be a fan of Francine Rivers’ new cover, I do think it works very well for a special edition type of cover. Thanks for sharing these new covers!
