First Line Friday: Laura Frantz’s A Bound Heart (with giveaway)

The Writer & her Book (29)

There’s nothing quite as tantalising as having a Laura Frantz story in your hands, so her latest novel, A Bound Heart, is the subject of my First Line Friday this week, as always hosted by Hoarding Books. I’m very new to First Line Friday but I’m loving sharing the first line of some brilliantly written stories, hoping the one line is enticing enough for you to add the book to your TBR stack.

Laura Frantz is unequivocally one of the BEST historical romance writers I have read. Her attention to detail and historical accuracy is renowned and her …

Once Upon a Montana Summer by Lisa T. Bergren

The Writer & her Book (81)Synopsis:~

Adalyn Stalling’s clients convinced her to be a contestant on their reality TV show, The One. Hundreds of thousands of viewers tune in each week to watch a group of bachelorettes try to win one bachelor’s heart, and then during the next season, watch bachelors do the same.

Adi appeared on the show twice—once as a potential love-match for the bachelor, once as the bachelorette. As a marketing executive for the firm who handles the show, Adi initially became a part of the cast in order to learn more from the “inside.” But as much as she wanted to

Five Lessons Learned from a Macaron by Carla Laureano (with giveaway)

The Writer & her Book (53)

I first met Carla Laureano in Indianapolis in 2013, a few months after she had release her fabulous debut novel, Five Days in Skye. It’s been a thrill to see her writing career take off and to have read and loved each of her smart and engaging love stories. She is a must read romance writer for me. Make sure she is for you, too.

For now, enjoy Carla’s guest post, enter the giveaway, and try to not to drool over the macarons!

Over to you, Carla…

First Line Friday ~ Claudia Mair Burney’s Zora & Nicky: A Novel in Black & White

The Writer & her Book (29)

It’s First Line Friday again, thanks to Hoarding Books…and I’m running a little late!

Reaching back around ten years for my first line this week from Claudia Mair Burney’s Zora & Nicky: A Novel in Black & White. With discussions about more diversity in fiction on the rise, it’s good to look back and see there were authors and publishers giving voice to wonderful characters and stories a decade ago. This story is powerful and intelligent and one that has stayed with me since I read. This love story between two preachers’ kids – the privileged African American, …

Revell Books Cover Art & Book News – mid 2019

Cover Art Headers (11)

Another post that has been a long time coming, so you are likely to have seen these covers out and about, but it’s always good to have them in one place, right?! Revell is back with some terrific cover design, and ones we are well familiar with, in a more traditional Christian romance style. I understand why the books that shout “Christian Fiction” appeal to many readers, but I’m just not that target audience. That said, the quality of cover is there with Revell’s design, no matter what my preferences may be!

I’ve moved clearly moved away from people on …

Top Ten Tuesday – Ten most recent additions to my to-read list

Cover Art Headers (10)

Today’s Top Ten Tuesday, hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl, is a nice and easy one as I need only look at my Kindle to see which books I’ve recently downloaded from NetGalley and a few pre-orders I’m impatiently waiting for! I’m excited to share them with you and see if any of these ones are making it to your TBRs, as well. Title links will take you to the book’s full details, so you can learn more. Is your TBR like mine? Ever growing without making good progress? Books are my weakness, that’s for sure, and often a …
