Synopsis:~

I, Holiday Brown, have it all. A platinum record. Multi-million dollar home in Manhattan that I share with my two best friends. Life is looking fantastic until my roommate’s brother decides to bunk in our guestroom while his house gets renovated.

W. Emmett Bell has always been the bane of my existence. He’s annoying, stubborn, a know it all, and just might be the most gorgeous man I’ve ever laid eyes on. But I refuse to fall for him. But when his sister’s threatened by a stalker, dynamics change. His unwavering faith isn’t quite as self-righteous as I’d always thought, and maybe he has a good side I’ve overlooked all these years.

Or maybe it’s all too much trouble.

Necee’s Take:~

“Wally blew out a breath. “Before my stay is over, I’ll get you to wave that white flag.” “Are you sure I won’t be smothering you with it?”

Toni Shiloh just found my happy spot. Her new release, The Trouble With Love, is the first book in her latest series Faith & Fortune and it may be my favourite series yet! I’m loving meeting these three best friends and roommates. They are all successful women and when one of their brothers comes to visit, the sparks fly. Holiday Brown has loathed Waldorf Emmett Bell for years, but finds herself annoyingly attracted to him.

“Ew, where on earth did that come from? It sounded like a compliment. Okay, a lot more than a compliment. Like feminine interest, which made my mouth pucker as if I’d just eaten something sour.”

This romance, friendship, and journey to faith story will warm all those cold places in your heart. The mystery thrown in really added to the book and will have you praying for them. Then you’ll realize it’s Shiloh’s writing, so you know there will be safety, grace, redemption and healing. I love the thread of who our Heavenly Father is and how we can depend on him. Beautifully written, heartwarming and engaging, it is a tale not to be missed for romance lovers and for those who enjoy stories about the Lover of our souls.

“I pray I can. From the moment I decided I wanted to marry, I prayed for my future wife. Prayed that God would be very present in her life. That He would protect her and bless her. That I would know when I found her and be the man she needs me to be.”

Another humorous aspect has a shout-out to the movie Clueless, which had me laughing out loud. There are so many sweet and sassy moments laced with humor, it really lightened the book. However, the message is deep and riveting. Truly touching and heartwarming storytelling.

I read this book through my Kindle Unlimited account. I am expressing my honest opinion, and I honestly loved it!Toni Shiloh

  1. I’m so glad you enjoyed the story. Thank you for sharing your thoughts!

  2. Thanks Necee and Toni! This book sounds so intriguing! I’m hoping to read it after I whittle down my already toppling book stack a bit. Due to all that’s going on in the world and in my life, I’m having a hard time concentrating on reading right now. That doesn’t happen often. I hope I get over it soon!
