Top Ten Tuesday: Extraordinary Book Titles

Top Ten Tuesday (2)

It’s Top Ten Tuesday again – hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl – with the fun topic of Extraordinary Book Titles. I’ve taken extraordinary to mean titles that intrigue me, make me wonder about the story inside the covers, and, most importantly, enticed me into reading the book. Again I had fun scanning my shelves to find titles that I remember captured my attention when I first saw them. Some are fun, others more solemn, and all speak what the story is inside!

Nothing fancy with the photography as I’m currently swamped on both work, family, and church fronts – and my brain is a little over-taxed today!! Anyone else have that feeling? Life isn’t terrible by any means, but there’s that scrambling to fit everything in and the worry that you may not get it all done. The best remedy I’ve found for this, in addition to breathing, taking a walk, reading a Psalm (or other scripture), is working hard then taking time to enjoy reading some chapters of a great book!

So, along with Top Ten Tuesday, there’s some unsolicited thoughts on coping with the busyness of life 🙂

  1. I totally understand balancing life and all it entails! Also, I agree with making time to read…it just helps me relax and let go of all those taxing things. I love the Psalms, too…my go to when I’m stressed for sure! Hang in there!

  2. My Life as a Doormat is a great title! I need to carve out more reading time as well; I get so caught up in everything going on around me, that I often forget how relaxing reading is! Great list and happy Tuesday! 😀

  3. I’m so thankful that despite your busyness you still eek out time for your blog. My day is MUCH brighter because of it. <3 🙂

A title that captured my attention was "The Secret Life of Sarah Hollenbeck" and then I opened the book it truly was EXTRAORDINARY.

  4. My Life as a Doormat does sound interesting.

    My TTT.

  5. So flattered to be included in your list!

  6. Yes, I loved Carrie’s title. Quite catchy. I loved Billy Coffey’s The Devil Walks in Mattingly. That really caught my eye. And of course, I’m totally going to use my own titles, because I LOVED the titles for my Tox Files – Conspiracy of Silence, Crown of Souls, and Thirst of Steel. 😀

  7. The title that has always stuck with me – and it’s not a book title but the title of the series she wrote – was “Mark of the Lion” by Francine Rivers. Hang in there Rel and remember that He orders our steps – so if you fell “out of sync” – you only need to line up with the Master – not this world – and rest in His path.

  8. Oh, My Life as a Doormat was turned into a Hallmark movie, called Love’s Complicated. It’s hilarious. Also, reminded mom and I of one sister, at least at one time in her life. I think she’s a little better about it now. I’ve never in the slightest had that problem.
