Welcome to Top Ten Tuesday with Necee and hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. This week’s theme is Halloween Freebie and my choice is: Who would you dress up as (from a book)?
Whether you are into Halloween or not, there is just something about this time of year. Seeing little kids in all sorts of cute outfits. Seeing adults acting like children. Laughter, fun and parties make it fun. I am a HUGE fan of make believe and dress up. Soooo, for today’s Top Ten Tuesday, I thought it would be fun to choose the top ten characters I’d like to dress up as. Of course, the characters would be from books and it would be about their professions or who they are. Of course I could think of more, but couldn’t quite place a book to match.
So let’s get started…
Special Agent/FBI:
First Wave (Northwest Counter-terrorism Task Force, Book 1) by Lisa Phillips. Who doesn’t want to fight crime?!
Chocolatier:
Britt is a Chocolatier at Sweet Art in Sweet On You by Becky Wade. This book has all the feels, too!
Firefighter:
Where There’s Smoke by Susan May Warren. Romantic adventure at its best, with a little heat added to the mix.
Artist:
Love Starts With Elle by Rachel Hauck. Art and romance
K9 Detective:
Called to Protect by Lynette Eason. Fighting crime with a K9 by your side!
Female Bodyguard & maybe a Superhero, too:
Her One and Only by Becky Wade. This time she’s the bodyguard and his hero.
Spider Man:
Just the Way You Are by Pepper Basham. Someone wants to be Spider, but who is it?
Female ninja warrior:
Iskra from Storm Rising by Ronie Kendig. Talk about smooth moves, Iskra is pure ninja!
Female Pirate:
The Reckless by MaryLu Tyndall. Adventure and a female pirate!
Princess:
Historical – The Princess Spy by Melanie Dickerson. Full of adventure with a princess to boot!
Contemporary – How to Catch A Prince by Rachel Hauck. All her princess books are great, but I really loved the heart of this one.
I really wanted to write down a mermaid, but I couldn’t think of a book to match!
Who would you like to dress up as? Or pretend to be? Can you think of a book to go along with your character?
Thanks for joining our Top Ten Tuesday!

MaryLu Tyndall’s “Tears of the Sea” has a mermaid. I would like to dress up like a Rough Rider fighting with Teddy Roosevelt. Gilbert Morris was nice to honor me with a character named Aaron Winslow who did this, so that would be pretty cool.

Ohhh, I’ll have to read her mermaid book. Also, I remembered Once Upon a Christmas has a mermaid, too! Wouldn’t a Rough Rider be fun to dress up as?!! I love that name, too Aaron!

Great ideas, Necee! I would Téya Reiker (aka – Katherine “Katie” Gerigpick) from Ronie Kendig’s Zulu all-female special ops team. That way I’d not only look cool, but could do serious bodily harm if anyone TOUCHED my candy! 🙂

Amy…you had me laughing at that! Save the candy! I loved Téya’s character, too 🙂

A chocolatier would be an awesome idea. Especially if you’re handing out candy to trick-or-treaters.

I’m thinking the children get regular candy and I save all the fancy chocolates (because I have to look the part with the good stuff) for myself. I might share with bookish friends if they bring coffee though 🙂

The blue and the pink dresses on Becky Wade’s books are both beautiful! I just need a younger body!

Oh, I bet you could pull off wearing those cute dresses, Janet. know I’d love to try 🙂

I would love to dress up as a circus character in Charlie’s circus family – “The Lady and the Lionheart”

Pam – Florida » Great choice, Pam!!! You’d make a wonderful addition to any circus 🙂
