My favourite thriller writer is my amazing friend, Ronie Kendig! If you haven’t read a Kendig novel you must rectify that immediately. Today sees the release of Ronie’s final adrenaline laced final Tox Files novel Thirst of Steel. This book is BRILLIANT. Like all Kendig novels the action is frenetic, yet her complex character development and intricate plots are second to none. It’s supremely rare to read a novel where an author can balance each of these elements well, but no one does it better than Ronie. She is an amazing talent. Don’t take my word for it!
Check out the thoughts of these readers…
- History comes to life in this contemporary final novel of The Tox Files. Outstanding…Wraith team finishes with an epic conclusion in a battle of the ages. ~llamalina reada
- Ronie Kendig has done it again. Be ready for an up all nighter as once you start you can’t stop. ~Horse Crazy
- HOORAH! Tzi, Ram, and Tox take the world by storm in this last installment of the Tox Files. Wow! This is by far my favorite of the series. ~Mandy
- As always, Kendig’s writing is top notch. I love how she draws me into every little detail of the setting that I need to know. I love how she describes the fight scenes, which are more detailed in male writings in my opinion, but not for Kendig, she rivals any male writer. ~Kelly Bridgewater
- The rapid-fire action and intensity had me mesmerized, mouth-gaped, and eyes glued to the pages of this book. It was heart-wrenching and oh-so-incredible. ~Mikal Dawn
- Wowser! That was masterful. And brilliant. And…heartbreaking! But still right, somehow. And now I have to figure out how to function in the real world while I recover… ~Katie, Fiction Aficionado
So here’s a look at
THIRST OF STEEL with a chance to win a signed copy via the Rafflecopter form below ~ thanks to Ronie’s generosity, we are giving away one signed copy to a winner from the US and one to a winner from Australia.
Dismantled centuries ago, the sword of Goliath is still rumored to thirst for its enemies’ blood. Cole “Tox” Russell only wants to begin his life with Haven Cortes, but he must first complete a final mission: retrieve that sword and destroy the deadly Arrow & Flame Order.
The AFO, however, is determined to claim the sword. Wielding their father’s life over Tzivia and Ram Khalon, they threaten to expose Ram’s long-held and dangerous secret while demanding Tzivia locate the sword. With the Wraith team slowly being torn apart, things only worsen when Mercy Maddox, a new operative, emerges with the stunning news that the sword is tied to both Ram’s secret and a string of unsolved serial murders.
Tox, Ram, and the others are forced to set aside fear and anger to focus only on the enemy. No matter the cost, Wraith must stop the enemy, or go down with them.
So what does an exceptional thriller writer read herself? I asked Ronie this question and here’s her response. Enjoy this insight into Ronie Kendig’s TBR!
Ronie: This is my current (well, most recent selections) to be read books. They include:
I have this in my stack because I read the first title in this series and was very enthralled and surprised with the author’s deft writing and making me care.
I’m reading EDGE because it’s a space opera, and I’m currently contracted for a space opera series. Also, Joshua is with my same publisher and a very nice guy.
I should’ve read this months ago, but it’s one I want to sit down with and ignore the world and time hasn’t allowed me to do that yet. I read Dekker’s Circle Trilogy when they first came out, and I’m a huge fan of this series. It was cutting edge back then and it’s still resonating with readers today.
I picked up Tahir’s first novel when it released because B&N had a sample booklet before its released and I was absolutely SOLD on this new, innovative series. I still love the series because it’s not the same old tropes, but I’m pretty disappointed that the publisher decided to change the style of the covers (for the whole series) with this release, and I think that was a bad move. I almost didn’t buy this one because of that since my set no longer matches.
I picked up the first of this series on Audible for $5 and was honestly blown away. Wow! He had me begging for the characters to survive in this post-apocalyptic world. VERY well done science fiction.
Because it’s about a CIA Analyst…and it’s a debut novel by a CIA analyst. LOL I’m intrigued!
This is the first novel based on the real-life IRVING, a sniper. Kind of cool to see a fictionalized story with a real-live hero.
Why am I reading this? Because it’s David Baldacci. And he’s my favorite author. That is all.
Honestly, I bought this one because of the cover and the story sounded fresh. Then I listened to a snippet of the voice narration on Audible and WOW!! Cannot wait to hear this via Audible…and follow along in the hardcover with it’s gorgeous cover.
Thanks for sharing these reads, Ronie!

Thrillers aren’t my first choice when choosing what to read or watch. But when I do choose them, I tend to enjoy them. I am a huge fan of Ronie’s and have read and own all of her military books. I also really enjoy Amy Leigh Simpson’s series Girl Next Door.

I’m with Ronie, I love David Baldacci, especially the Camel Club series, those guys are awesome. And then there is Robie and Reel, and King and Maxwell and Amos Decker. All of them are good. Ted Dekker is another favorite with his serial killer/demon possessed killers.

Naomi Shores » I’ve only read one of Baldacci’s novels years ago. Don’t tell Ronie 😉

Ronie Kendig is my favorite!!! I have been addicted to her books since I read Nightshade. I didn’t know she had a debut novel before that until later, or it probably would have hooked me. 🙂
August 1, 2018 at 10:24 am
Anne Payne » Yay! As you know, she’s mine too. Dead Reckoning grabbed me from the very beginning of her career.

If by thriller you mean suspense/drama, I enjoy Ronie Kendig, Terri Blackstock, Dee Henderson. An awesome psychological thriller is THR3E by Ted Dekker.

I love Ronie’s books! Dead Reckoning is my favorite of hers…it was the first one I read and I was hooked!!! I’m also a big David Baldacci fan.
August 5, 2018 at 5:13 pm
My favorites are always changing, but right now I’m really enjoying Connie Mann’s books. They’re more mystery/suspense, but there are always moments throughout that are intense. I get worked up easy and can only handle so much anxiety-inducing scenes. Lol. 🙂
August 6, 2018 at 11:48 am
Thrillers are not really my first choice anymore. When I was younger I loved Tom Clancy’s books. I still remember when all the story threads came together in Executive Orders and having to go back and re-read about 10 pages because I was in shock.
There are a couple of books on Ronie’s list that I have loved, especially Sabaa Tahir’s. I don’t have Reaper yet. (Money is tight right now). But I really do not like the new covers at all.

Yay. A signed book for Oz from Ronie Kendig. Hooray. Love her books. Thanks Rel and Ronie
