I can relate right now to being alone in the house at night for the first time and sitting up reading instead of sleeping.

This excerpt hooked me right away as I’ve experienced being alone in my house at night and suddenly all the noises seem amplified. This suspenseful novel will be fun to read (with my peeps at home)!

I also can relate to staying up late trying to finish a book and have been known to stay up all night to do so, but only if I don’t have to be anywhere the next day.

I love how strong the main character is. I’m pretty much the opposite. Don’t know that I would be able to react as she does in this excerpt because my brain freezes in these scary moments.

Someone breaking into your house at night while you’re trying to sleep? That’s awful & creepy. I’m intrigued by that key the intruder was looking for.

I don’t know what I would do if I was asked a question and answered, then the figure vanishes. I’m curious on who that was that asked the question.
