I always look forward to seeing the cover art Bethany House Publishers put so much effort into and I’m thrilled that they are stepping out a bit more adventurously with their early 2013 releases. I love that male characters have been given more of a profile in Siri, Kim and Mary’s covers and adore that Jody’s has the hero solo ~ not a flounce or piece of lace in sight! (Not quite so sure about the flapping cravat though!!)
Take a good look at the great offerings with historical, contemporary, suspense, Amish and fantasy all featured in this line up ~ I’m particularly looking forward to Shattered, A Noble Groom, Unrivaled and When Mountains Fall and most of the others, too! I’m excited to see Bethany publish a fantasy novel in Patrick Carr’s A Cast of Stones, the first in a new trilogy.
How about you ~ I’d love to hear which books you are dying to read and what you think of these covers.

LOVE, love, love this line-up! It’s so beautiful seeing it all in one place. And I LOVE your header with the collage! And although I was a bit surprised by the front and center man on my book, I’m actually quite taken with the cover now. I mean, who wouldn’t be with HIM on it? 😉
June 28, 2012 at 10:20 pm
It’s a refreshing change, Jody! Lovely cover. This is my first sight of it, and my first inkling as to what your next book is about. I think I’m already hooked.
Thanks for the great BH line up Rel.

June 28, 2012 at 11:17 pm
Jody Hedlund » Hey, lovely Jody ~ thanks for dropping by. LOVE that your guy is on the cover! Do you know what the back cover is going to look like?
June 28, 2012 at 11:31 pm
Thank you for the sweet words, Lori!
And, Rel, I’m not sure about the back cover. My inkling is that the back is one of the later things that my editor puts together. In fact, I just recently saw the back cover on my Sept. release which is more traditional in appearance. You can take a peek at it over on Dave Long’s blog: http://faithinfiction.wordpress.com/2012/06/21/on-back-cover-copy/ I personally prefer the bold pictures with little text. But I’m leaving it to the experts to decide!
June 29, 2012 at 12:09 am
Thanks Jody – I enjoyed reading Dave’s blog post and gave my two cents’ worth as well 🙂
June 28, 2012 at 12:39 pm

Lisa Wingate » Thanks Lisa – I was just speaking to a friend of mine who loves your books and was asking if I had read them…..well, of course 😉
June 29, 2012 at 1:20 am
They’re all beautiful. I can’t say which is my favorite simply on artistic quality except that I LOVE the girl on the front of Lauraine Snelling’s book. She looks like she’s got “‘tude”!I’m looking forward to “Shattered” as it sounds like a good read. And “A Cast Of Stones” intrigues me – but it’s the description more than the cover, although the cover is what made me stop and read the blurb. The cover art department has done a SUPERB job with these!
June 29, 2012 at 6:53 pm
Tammy Doherty » Thanks for sharing your thoughts, Tammy – I love hearing what different books appeal to to others 🙂

Refreshing to see some implied action on some of these covers, Rel. Delish!

June 29, 2012 at 6:59 pm
Beverly Lewis » Thank you so much for sharing, Beverly. Everyone is adoring the little girl on yours!
June 30, 2012 at 11:43 am
Rel, I was thrilled to meet the adorable little girl (who posed for my book cover for THE GUARDIAN) at the big turnout at the Edina, MN Lifeway Store, during my April ’12 book tour. She snuggled right up to me and we had our picture taken together. She was just darling!
June 30, 2012 at 3:10 pm
Beverly Lewis » What a lovely story 🙂 So glad you got to meet her, Beverly – thanks for sharing that.
June 29, 2012 at 3:11 pm
These are some wonderful covers! And while you know, Rel, that I usually do not like the chopped-off head, I love Beverly’s cover! I love that it seems to come from the child’s POV. Great covers for what I am sure are great books.
June 29, 2012 at 7:01 pm
Aaron McCarver » I think that little girl has captured many hearts, Aaron 🙂
June 29, 2012 at 3:13 pm
Oh, I meant to add to that the Southerner in me was really drawn to Tracie and Judith’s cover. Fantastic!
June 29, 2012 at 7:02 pm
Aaron McCarver » So, tell this ignorant Aussie what makes the cover Southern, Aaron – pretty please!
June 29, 2012 at 9:18 pm
Before the American Civil War, the South was known for its plantation homes, similar to the one on the cover. While slavery is a mark on our country’s history, I love to visit the old homes like this and learn how people lived during this time. The South is known for its many antebellum homes, especially in places like Charleston, South Carolina, Savannah, Georgia, and Natchez, Mississippi. If you ever come to Mississippi, I will be glad to take you to some of these glorious homes.
June 30, 2012 at 3:19 pm
Aaron McCarver » Oooo! I’ll hold you to that, Aaron 🙂 I’d love to visit one day.
June 29, 2012 at 8:48 pm

Every single one of these looks so tempting. Can’t wait to read Dani Pettrey’s “Shattered.” Loved “Submerged.” Julie Klassen’s new books are always on my shopping list, too. Thanks for the preview, Rel.
June 30, 2012 at 3:14 pm
Ann Shorey » Dani is certainly making a splash – love her stories, too!
August 24, 2012 at 10:05 am
