Relz Reviewz Banners (87)

Welcome to this week’s Top Ten Tuesday with Necee, hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.

Changes in my reading life

I will be honest I flip-flopped on this one, but ultimately decided to share what impacted my reading the most this year. The biggest changes to my reading life have been affected by attending my first reader & author retreat in August hosted by Baker Book House. Fiction Readers Summit was an amazing opportunity to meet new authors, connect with other readers, and find new books to read.

The thing I loved about this retreat was getting to know

Cover Art & Book News: Tyndale House’s mid 2020 releases

Cover Art Headers (21)

Another cover reveal post from Tyndale House Publishers! I love the books Tyndale release and their team is amazing. While they don’t release as many fiction titles as the other big name publishers, you can always know you will get quality storytelling and cover design., as you can see from this group below.

I adore the covers for T. I. Lowe’s series (you can see the first cover here). They are so enticing and I love the colours and the lack of people on them 🙂 Lynn Austin’s is lovely and so perfect for the era. I love that the …

First Line Friday: Sarah Loudin Thomas’ When Silence Sings

First Line Friday

Welcome to another First Line Friday, hosted by Hoarding Books. Today I’m sharing the first line from Sarah Loudin Thomas’ latest historical novel set in 1930s West Virginia, When Silence Sings. Love the title, don’t you? I had the pleasure to sharing a meal with Sarah at the 2016 ACFW gala and it was an honour and delight. Sarah is an exceptional person and her writing follows in the same vein. I have selected this novel for my book club next year (yes, it takes that long for books to arrive in Australian bookstores) and can’t wait to …

Top Ten Tuesday ~ Favourite Bookmarks (with giveaway)

Top Ten Tuesday

It’s another Top Ten Tuesday, hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl and we are talking bookmarks!

I’ve never found bookmarks terribly useful in books. I rarely use them to hold my place in a book, nor to a do the unpardonable and fold corners, or stick in a tissue, chocolate wrapper, or use money to hold my place. I’ve always found my place in a book by flipping through until I pick up where I left off. I love the idea of bookmarks but my execution was always poor. I actually love bookmarks – especially ones signed by authors – …

Bookchat with Caleb Breakey (with giveaway)

Relz Reviewz Banners (97)

You know someone is serious about writing when they spend their wedding money on 52 books on writing fiction! That was debut novelist, Caleb Breakey, and his wife. Great to see that investment pay off with the release of The String, the first thriller in Caleb’s Deadly Games series. I’m delighted to have Caleb chat with us today about his main character, Markus Haas, the inspiration for this story, and the trickiness of the human will.

Thanks to Revell, we have a copy of The String to give away, so enter below for your chance to win a copy …
