Coming soon ~ Quilts of Love from Abingdon Press

Abingdon Press introduce a new series called Quilts of Love!

Quilts tell stories of love and loss, hope and faith, tradition and new beginnings. The Quilts of Love series focuses on the women who quilted all of these things into their family history. Featuring contemporary and historical romances as well as women’s fiction and the occasional light mystery, you will be drawn into the endearing characters of this series and be touched by their stories

I’d love your thoughts on the covers, these kinds of series and anything else you would like to mention!

Beyond the Storm by Carolyn Zane

After a tornado rips through her town, store owner Abigail comes across a piece of fabric from a wedding dress among the devastation. Abigail is moved to start collecting other swatches of fabric she finds – her neighbor’s kitchen curtains, a man’s necktie, a dog’s bed – which she stashes in shopping bags. As she pursues her seemingly absurd quest, horrible realities spark the question, “What kind of a God would allow such tragedy?”

As she struggles to reconcile her right to happiness amidst the destruction, Abigail begins piecing together a patchwork quilt from the salvaged fabric in hopes it will bring some peace. But a new relationship with Justin, a contractor, may require too much of her fragile heart. Will her pain and questions of faith give way to the courage to love?

Pieces of the Heart by Bonnie Calhoun

Cordelia Grace watched Bernard Howard, the love of her young life, go off to fight for our country in WWII. And she has spent the last three years creating the Pine Cone quilt that will grace their marriage bed when he comes home. Each row of triangles signifies a layer in her life, sets of memories, hopes, dreams, and prayers for her future, enough spoken words to cover them forever. Her image of their “happy-ever-after” grows proportionally as the quilt expands.

But is the man that returns from the war, the same man that she remembered? Are the dark shades of color that she had to use for the outside edges of the beloved quilt prophetic of her life to come? Can love and faith overcome all?

  1. Wow love the look of the series and so many different stories. thanks for sharing.

  2. So, so many different stories around the quilt theme … how intriguing. I’m not a quilter, but I’d still read this series. And I have many friends who are quilters, so I know they’d enjoy these novels.

    • Beth Vogt » I’m with you, Beth – so far away from being a quilter, it’s not funny! My sister, however, has made some stunning quilts and other fabulous crafty things. God gave her the creative gene in our family 🙂

  3. I really, really love these covers since they are sooo different from anything else on the Christian fiction market right now and they lack the “cheesiness” that a lot of the romance covers have. I hope this series is as good as it looks!

  4. Love all the covers! They’re beautiful. What a great idea to tie these books together. Am critiquing Linda Clare’s book right now, and loving it!

  5. WOW! Would love to win this Quilt series. It sounds great! Please enter me to have a chance.

    • Maxie Anderson » Maxie – the only giveaway on my site is in the sidebar, under Giveaways and it’s Alice Wisler’s book. Click on the cover of Still Life in Shadows to enter. Cheers!

  6. Laetitia Bailey-Mortimer

Drool. Do they come with patterns / spin-off pattern book by any chance?
